It's like having your favorite book read by your 5-year-old son who guesses its content mostly by the pretty pictures and makes up most stuff on the fly. :|

I tried watching one of these once and had a similar reaction. Unfortunately, a new generation of "retro" fans are learning everything this way.

Technology-wise, the best partner for Sega would have been:

But using a much newer, more powerful custom GPU, not R3D/100 or R3D Pro-1000. A hypothetical "R3D/500".

So if Dreamcast had been a second, next generation console partnership between SEGA and Lockheed Martin for consumer systems, launching not too early, i.e. 2000 instead of '98/'99,
then the first one would've been along these lines, launching in late 1996:
