In case anybody wonders: the joke is that the game is so extremely minimalistic it wouldn't be worth a cartridge release at all. It's a legit game otherwise. It took about a week to make.

Damn, I almost missed it just reading the title, thinking it's just an update of Master System Emulator Meka or such. :)
Actually I like its minimalistic, as long as the game's fun. And this one is fun.
If what I want a deep complex game I'd play next gen console games. For retro console games, I'd prefer something like this.

I had a quick play of this last night, its quite fun and the transparency effect is pretty cool. Maybe we should have a little contest on here to see who can get the highest score?

Wow, OK then I won't bother posting a screenshot of my embarrassingly low score of 42100. This game reminds me a little of Asteroids, which is a game I used to be pretty good at. Meka Grappler gets quite addictive, great game.

Don't worry, the highest scores in that table are mostly a fluke. I know somebody did over 100,000 (precisely trying to beat my score) but I forgot the exact amount. EDIT: 112,760 points.

Any chance of adding a tournament (maybe with elimination by scoring) mode for 4 players, for an example?

Really great game, Sik! It's challenging and addictive. To me, something about Meka Grappler X's art style and arcade gameplay feels like it would translate well to a platform like the Neo Geo MVS. Neo Grappler X? :D

The exaggerated name and the large logo in the title screen are probably what's doing it. Then you go into the game and it's a wash in comparison :​O​)
