View Full Version : Game Gear boxes, does color vary that much?

So I've been into making repro boxes for Game Gear, but something that is driving me crazy is the color accuracy on the boxes with the pin-stripe design (NTSC). It seems like the color varies a lot between each game, and in some cases even for the same game a box can be a completely different shade from another copy. Like for example, I'm trying to figure if the box for Tails Adventure is supposed to be a hot pink, or cooler purple, because I've seen pics of both.

Anyone know if they just vary depending on which copy you get? Or is it a trick of lighting?

The pinkish color you see in the linked auction is caused by a lighting and white balance issue with the seller's camera.
