Hello,

Can MSX2 roms work on Game gear?

Thanks for feedback :)

They work on PSP. Isn't that a better option?

Probably is for many reasons but I think my situation would benefit from literal hardware.

Basically want to use BASIC and figure out more about using the hardware and interpreter. But maybe hack some MSX2 roms like "Final Fantasy" or something like that. Also translating any compile-able BASIC code to assembly.

Personally would be interested in using PSP hardware but wondering if anything similar like BASIC is available. Something easy and to the point. Really sick of the Linux stuff and setting up cross-compilers and etc...

Thanks for the feedback :)

EDIT:
BTW do know little bit of hexadecimal, but would like easier way to become fluent with it. Learned through networking college courses. Thanks!

Not without massive reworking and hacking to make them work. The hardware is not 1:1 identical. Heck the even the SG-1000 to Colecovision isn't as simple as just shoving the ROM into a flash cart, and that hardware is almost 1:1 identical. The ROMs still need to have their memory maps converted, and for Colecovision to SG-1000 you need to do something about the lack of a BIOS.

You'd be better off making your own homebrew game from scratch.
