View Full Version : My copy of Seireki 1999 (aka Powerslave, aka Exhumed) won't work!

I have a sega saturn US model but modded to play japanese games with a switch (no pal games can't be played).

I have had no issue playing US game Duke Nukem 3d or japanese game Guardian Heroes or Virtua Fighter.

I have just received a near mint looking Seireki 1999 (so powerslave in japanese) and I keep on having the same error message "Drive Empty".

I am quite puzzled knowing that:

-All my other games play well.
-The game Seireki 1999 is clean, no scratched or else
-if I have the wrong message the saturn tells me it can't be played or whatever.

Please help.

It can't see the disc. Either the laser needs calibration, or the tray is too high/low up.

If you don't have another Saturn to test on, try it on your PC using emulation.

It might be region locked to play only on a JP Saturn?

That's what I thought but I think by 2019, it would be known that some games can be truly region lock (regardless of the saturn mod). A shame. I bought it from a guy on a forum, he gave a refund in no time and was just as surprised as I was. Oh well..I will save and try to get the US version!

You could still play the audio tracks in the CD player if that was the game, and it would give you a messages stating that the "game disc is incompatible with the system".
