Best Console ever, It was a crime for the industry to abandon the 6-button layout.

Happy 25th Saturn, though you have a ton of games I cannot afford, I am happy with the 53 games I do have for you. There's still stuff for you that is affordable though at least. Such a great console for it's Japanese library, maybe not so much for it's western library (that Japanese Saturn library is absolutely KILLER!).

People talk about Sega's mistakes during the Saturn period, but there was no mistake, it was the success of competitors who made in wrong Sega decisions; every decision is neutral, the story is written by the winners. After winning, they can forge the narrative they want, IGN recently made the top 100 where it didn't include a single SEGA game, all to reinforce the mythology that Sega has no relevance.

If you don't know Sony there was lot intrigues between the American and the Japanese divisions about the playstation. the console had no direction to go until Kutaragi decided to go 3D after seeing Virtua Fighter 1 (1993 ?) there were many design flaws in the Playstation like the defective CD player, the controller wire was too short, The idea of selling separate memory could have gone wrong, they were lucky., the console was bad for 2D programming, and had too much loading, but by irony of fate people embraced the idea, something no one could predict.

Oooooh! It seems I touched a nerve lol. I honestly love my Saturn, and am currently playing Resident Evil on it at this very moment. As much as I love the Sega Saturn however, the system is destined to forever occupy an uncomfortable space in gaming history. Sandwiched between the Mega Drive's phenomenal and richly deserved success, and one of the greatest games machines of all time in the form of the Sega Dreamcast.

Yes but they are all tied for 2nd place after Dreamcast. https://i.imgur.com/g5hLTmV.gif
