Retro-bit is working on a new Dreamcast controller with a 6 button layout and revamped D-pad closer to that of the Saturn/Genesis.

Not to be confused with the Retro Fighters DC controller which is the same just a more Xbox shape. I think I will get both.

I'll probably choose a wired one, I have enough not working wireless dreamcast controllers laying around already. Hopefully it has a nice long cord.

Looks nice, but they don't confirm or deny one other change that a lot of people would appreciate. On the wired version, where does the cord come out?

I want a Dreamcast controller that is exactly the same as the original just wireless and with a home button for the new systems. Redesigned d-pad makes me wary it will only resemble the original in appearance but feel different, which will make it more of a nostalgia item.

I hope the d-pad will be similar to the 3D Saturn controller.

Hope this time everything will be perfect, tha Dreamcast analogue stick is probably one of the most durable stick ever made, I pretend the same quality this time.

If you look at the mold mockup above again closely. You can clearly see the cutout in the bottom center for the cord to come out, just like on the originals.

Is it confirmed that the wired and wireless versions use the same mold? And does that mean the wireless version has a USB-C port recessed in the hole? Seems like that would be pretty awkward.

One glance and I'm already more excited for this than the Retro Fighters controller.
