The thing sounds crazy powerful! VMUs. Online play?! Windows?! Rumors of a camera. Another one that is might have some ability to connect to a Neo Geo Pocket? Is there anything SEGA didn't think of?

Who else is pre-ordering at EB Games?

I think Saturn isn't dead yet, could Dreamcast and Saturn coexist until 2005? Also, there's no way the PSX-2 will be a hit, Sony doesn't have staying power like Sega and Nintendo.

I think it would be better for Sega to release a 128 bit add-on for the Saturn so the console can keep up with the GC, XboX and PS2

I don't know, are they really just dropping the saturn? I think I might wait to see what Sony comes up with before I buy one. I heard they're going to make a Playstation 2.

Me in 1999 -

"Looks pretty cool but I dunno, I like Sega and all but they're on pretty shakey grounds these days so it might not last very long, and I prefer Nintendo anyway and want to get the next Perfect Dark when it comes out so I think I'll wait for the GameCube."

Me in 2005 -

"I chose poorly"

Me in 2002 -

"Hey, a Sonic game. I remember downloading the Sonic CD demo and having fun! Why don't I get it."

Buys Sonic Adventure without a Dreamcast.

"Hey, this game doesn't run in my PC or even read. I guess I have to get this Dreemcast too."

Buys a Dreamcast with two controllers, two VMUs for $15 because of a special that day at Funcoland(?).

Never stopped having good luck with Sega since.

Me in 1998 -

Pen Pen and VF3Tb are the most incredible games I had ever seen, the Dreamcast is amazing

Me in 2002 -

JSRF is just the best game ever and I'm a XBot.

1998 seeing Project Berkley/Shenmue is what sold me. It looked so real. You could manipulate objects and pick them up. Little things like turning off lights felt so novel to me then. I just wanted to explore that world. Magazines showing screens and explaining this is real-time and not CG like so many games used for cutscenes back then. It just didn't seem possible for games to look good in 1999. Soul Calibur besting the arcade version. WHAT?! Playing HoTD in arcades and thinking games looking this good? The VMUs, the controller, the system design to me all felt futuristic. So sleek. Every single time I turn on the DC to play something. My mind goes back to that era and I am still amazed. Shenmue still amazes me for the detail it had. These days not big on realism like I was then but playing DOA2 the first game I ever saw cloth physics and find it neat how they still look pretty convincing.

All those years later and it's still one of the most aesthetic consoles ever.

I just traded in a bunch of Sega Saturn and PlayStation games to Funcoland for store credit and reserved a Dreamcast. I can't wait to play it. They hooked me up with a cool Dreamcast t-shirt.

Dream Team.

If that shirt does not fit you must acquit.

Oh XL fits.

I knew the manager and she hooked me up with a second shirt, after I told her that my wife wore mine as a nighty.

Well i made it, turns out time travel is a thing and came back a year before my birth to get one at launch. Next time you'll see me it'll be 21 years from now.

Also uh, 2008's gonna suck, and so will 2020
