Hey, thanks for the avatar props! I don't know if you know this already but it's a screenshot from the MSX/SMS game Super Boy I, which is (as you probably guessed) a dreadful hackjob clone of Mario. Barely playable and it controls like a drunken dachshund, but I actually finished the thing a while back.
