Witch version of Revenge of Shinobi (Rev A) is it 1.0, 1.1 or 1.2?
I've noticed that there's a little confusion with the different versions of that game. Some ROM sites list them as REV00, REV01, REV02, etc., and some sites list them as Rev A, Rev B, etc. I included the CRC32 checksum with the codes because of this. Many hex editors will generate the CRC32 checksum for you (in the 'Tools' section in Hex Workshop).
The ROM site where I get my ROMs from has them listed as:
Revenge of Shinobi, The (USA, Europe) ---- This is the one I have listed above as "Original version"
Revenge of Shinobi, The (USA, Europe) (Rev A) ---- This is the one I have listed as "Rev A"
Revenge of Shinobi, The (USA, Europe) (Rev B)
I don't know which ones are 1.0, 1.1, or 1.2.

Kariu doesn't use up any magic. You'll have infinite use of Kariu as long as you have at least 1 magic.
Since there has been some confusion with the different versions of Revenge of Shinobi, I decided to download all the different ROMs and get to the bottom of this. Here's what I found.

It appears that there are 4 different versions of the game when using the 00, 01, 02, 03 format, but only 3 versions when using the A, B format.
