Don't fall when you walk off ledges (Walk on air). Press jump to drop down.
This code also works on slopes, etc. If you have any problems, pressing jump
usually fixes it.
NOTE: There are a lot of ledges and slopes in this game, so you'll spend a lot of time "Walking on air" with this code. Can sometimes disrupt the "Flow" of the game, but still a lot of fun to play around with.

Get rings from anywhere in special/bonus stages. Note that you will also get the black spikes which cause you to lose 10 rings. Use the "Gain 10 rings" code to prevent that (FPLA-GNA6).
EDIT: This code can make it so that you're just a couple rings short of the required amount is some bonus stages, so probably best not to use it.

Pause the game and press A for invincibility, or press B or C to add 10 rings to your total. Can repeat for more rings, but if you go over 100, you won't get your extra life until you collect a ring while playing. Also, the invincibility needs to be re-enabled if you lose a life, finish a level, or if you pick up another invincibility.
EDIT: This is set-up so that anytime you press a button when paused, it will unpause itself to visually show that you pressed a button.
EDIT2: Also, I made it so that your ring count is updated so you will instantly see the extra rings.

Pause the game and press A to become Super Sonic. Super Sonic will jump higher, have faster acceleration, higher top speed, and be invincible. Also, your rings won't decrease from being Super Sonic. You'll stay Super Sonic until you finish the level or lose a life, but can re-enable it at any time.
EDIT: Had to add another code to fix a problem with the music stopping when you un-paused.

Had a problem with the "Get rings from anywhere in special stages" code. The code made it so that you also "hit" all of the black spikes. This made it so that you would be a few rings short in some of the bonus stages. Added a second code that lets you run right thru the black spikes without touching them. You don't bounce back, you don't lose any rings, you just run right thru them.

Special/Bonus stages are always accessible. Anytime you pass a star post, the bonus stage will appear. Works even if you don't have any rings, or if you have all 7 emeralds. Note that if you enter a bonus stage with all 7 emeralds, you may lose your Super Sonic ability, but you cal always use the "Can turn into Super Sonic at any time" code to fix that.
