The IR receiver unit actually has two parts to it. There's the "eye" part that fits in the front and then a type of screw on module thingy that connects with a short cable to the port labelled...
I found it in one of local junk ads, a little while back.
I'll still probably try and source the remote control for it, seeing as the VCR was already fitted with the IR receiver when I picked it...
