Hear, hear. :D
As I mentioned before, VA2.3s with the 315-5786 ASICs require an 18pF cap on C13 in order to be stable.
The blame lies at the feet of Sega CS for leaving this cap off.
This ASIC despite its...
No love for Music 01 from Time Trax? 60 Hz preference for me.
https://youtu.be/6_IJYc9t3vQ?t=230
IMO Music 01 is one of the best things I've ever heard coming out of a YM2612.
It brings tears to...
The most recent movie I saw (that is, one I watched this month) was 'Pod People'. Thankfully it was with Joel and the 'bots.
All right, you made me crack a smile with that.
Ehh, I could care less either way.
Conspiracy nuts tend to provide some much-needed comedic relief in these bleakest of times.
Edit: Shame there's no neutral option for those of us who don't...
A proper fix-up of Mega Bomberman would be nice.
(fix the slowdowns, tweak up the music a little to make better use of the FM chip, maybe add in all the missing animations from the PC Engine)
Hm... where did you get this VA2.3 again?
Just to eliminate one possible mode of failure, do the colors shift/change onscreen as the system warms up? Or does it ever randomly lose sync? (trying to...
Also, be mindful to terminate unused amps after installing the Mega Amp.
Leaving unused op-amps floating without terminating them is a terrible idea. They will (not 'can', will) inject evil amounts...
Anymore I always put an 18pF cap at C13 on every single VA2.3 I come across, regardless if the CPU is made by Hitachi or Motorola. 18pFs caps are cheap, VA2.3s not so much.
Not sure if cleaning...
Yes, TR1/TR2 are the pass-through amp transistors for the Sega CD.
They pass the YM3438+PSG+32X through to the Sega CD.
What this means is, if you remove these transistors only Sega CD PCM and...
Recapping that VA2.3 won't fix those kinds of problems.
Instead, try adding an 18pF capacitor to C13 and see of that helps any.
Some VA2.3s with 315-5786 ASICs need an 18pF cap there (it's a...
Made in Indonesia, serial # AD42005043.
315-5786 ASIC. KA2195D encoder, big surprise. (At least they give way to CXA1645M's with comparatively little effort.)

SOLD! Thanks for looking!
This might win the Captain Obvious award, but... you've made sure your cabling is good and the connectors on both the console/S-video jack and the cable are clean, right?
Sold! Thanks for looking :)
SOLD! Thanks for looking :)
I wish I had a working one to trade to you.
But I did chip in my two cents on that thread you started about trying to fix your cart. After OCRing the datasheet and running it through Google...
The transistor is a PST529F, that's a bit different from the nebulous 'PST529' that that eBay auction claimed the USSR-made part replaced. In fact there *is* no 'PST529', it's PST529C/D/E/F/G/etc,...
@Melf: Awesome!
@Sik: Well, what happened was on Super Fantasy Zone, Genecyst would move the selector two options at a time instead of one. It also had problems handling the introduction sequence (the text didn't...
Scammers will try to ensure you get so fed up you'll just let them get away with highway robbery.
Most absolutely escalate the situation thru Paypal.
Not sure what the actual term for the functions I was talking about is, I've heard FM emulators referred to as cores back in the dark ages of emulation. Guess it kind of stuck.
The outdated...
I thought we all left all the '____tard' baloney behind when we left high school.
As for me? I just enjoy playing games on real H/W. It's just part of the experience for me, not necessarily...
But wasn't there that issue with the erratic Total Level values? Or is that fixable outside of the driver?
Actually I'm a bit curious: was this driver used in any other games other than this...
