I don't know, the stuff he did as a director/producer at Sega was still pretty good. I think like most people he needs a good team working with him, as well as management above him to encourage his...

Sure but it's still running in a 320px wide mode like the PC Version. So the viewable area that's displayed should still match the PC version running in a similar sized window. PSX is the only one I...

PSX Doom runs in a 256px wide resolution. I believe PC, Jaguar, Saturn, and 3DO are in a 320px wide mode. Not sure about 32X.

Sure doing a Disc swap isn't great and can cause harm doing it repeatedly. That said doing one disc swap is probably far less damaging than ripping out a cartridge while the system is powered on.

I can't help but laugh at the amount of people I see suggesting this, who then turn around and complain that the Saturn has a "crappy" and "unreliable" cartridge slot.

Desire uses C's Ware's custom Lucid Motion codec. It's designed to work really well for low color animated content. It runs at 15fps with 8bit color.

Yes, and those are all using either Cinepak or raw uncompressed formats. I'm not denying these systems can do FMV with Polygons on top. I'm arguing that Cinepak is the better fit for it over...

Most games on the Sega CD are either doing things like Cinepak or raw uncompressed formats which require less CPU overhead. They're also very low color and frame rate. My point I was getting at was...

On the subject of Truemotion vs Cinepak, I think this is a pretty good comparison. Clockwork Knight 2 uses Truemotion for the FMVs, however there was a promodisc that had it's intro encoded in...

The CPU Overhead is an issue if you want to do something like FF7. Mr.Bones isn't really doing something on that level. THe FMV isn't that high of a frame rate and I don't think it's full screen...

The issue with Truemotion is that it's limited to 15-bit RGB. So things usually have a heavily posterized or washed out look to them. Sometimes they'll even dither it to hide those issues. It also...

The Phantasy Star Portable Series is definitely worth getting if you like the series. Also the Anniversary Editions of Final Fantasy 1, 2, and Star Ocean 1 and 2 are worth picking up.

Sure but when we have official numbers from the actual manufacturer they should hold some weight. It's not like it's some odd crazy number, it's a pretty believable and specific number. 8.8 Million...

It could also mean there's gaps or inconsistencies in the serial number data you have. Again I seriously doubt Sega would have lied to that extent on a share holders report.

Which is still part of the same 8.8 Million worldwide figure. That would leave about 3.2 Million for the rest of the world which is believable. I really don't get what you're trying to debate here.

It's the same figure, he just pointed out what the Japan only number was. It still states 8.8 Million for worldwide by Fiscal Year 1998.

I'd imagine Sega's are simply rounded. I wouldn't expect them to lie by 30 million games sold and 2 million systems sold on an official financial report.

VGChartz numbers also have massive holes in them. For example for Dragon Force there's US sales, but none for Japan. There's stuff like that all throughout the numbers. Which is why it's probably...

Lupin works for Truemotion because it's low color. That said, Cinepak I'd say easily beats it in the likes of Tengai Makyou or Lunar 2:

TrueMotion isn't always better. It comes at the cost of being limited to 15-bit RGB which can cause noticeable banding. To avoid it you have to do a lot of tweaking with the colors, dithering, etc....
