Thumbs up Sonic's UGC Vinyl Record: Jawusumness at its finest

Saw this one recently on Sonic Retro while looking at the Sonic soundtracks. Apparently it came for free if you preordered it in Australia, and it was exclusive for that country. Features tracks from both Vectormans (Tidal Surge and Shout and Twist), Phantasy Star II (Restration), Ristar (Star Humming), Golden Axe (Turtle Village) and Space Harrier (the main theme). Here's the Sonic Retro link: http://info.sonicretro.org/Sega_Mega...ection_(album)

And some images from that article:

No, Baldrick, what you have there isn't gold. What you have discovered - if it has a name - is some green.

I guess it'll go for double the price of the game on ebay, after all copies are sold out...

If retro-goodness was a mountain-range, this must be one of its peaks.

I saw when this bonus was announced and was really excited about it until I realized there was no Streets of Rage music on it, which completely killed it for me.

Seriously. Forget about the Genesis; SoR has one of the best soundtracks of any game on any system, period. It is a travesty that hey didn't include it there, as it is one of the few game soundtracks that I would consider worthy enough to own on vinyl.

Well, one more reason to make another vinyl release of
Mega Drive music. That record just should not remain the
last one. I am sure that lot's of Mega Drive music library can
be used in a disco, so this isn't something the industry would
do for the very small audience, the people who happen to like
both - Mega Drive and vinyl records.

edit: oh come on... no new status with the 200st post?

    Very true.

I also love Koshiro's work in Revenge of Shinobi, Sonic on Master System, or even Slap Fight MD, but I also do think that some of these guys should deserve some more credit for their excellent work:

The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

MATT FURNISS YEAH! Seriously, someone should do a vinyl with his music from the Genesis. Some candidates:

-Up, Up and Away, Decisions, Decisions, Read All About It and Over the Top (F-15 Strike Eagle II)
    -The theme music from G-LOC
    -Holocaust (The Terminator)
-Scalp Trouble (Daffy Duck in Hollywood)
