So has that goalie been beheaded and his head placed on a stake, right?

    Isn't that still standard procedure?

Good Heavens, Sir! You make it sound like England is trapped in the Dark Ages with such barbaric notions. Her Majesty will simply invite him to the Palace where his top hat and monocle will be taken from him. Her Majesty will forbid him from ever taking afternoon tea and playing cricket upon the Palace Lawn, before he is sent to The Tower.

    No tea and crumpets?

    You heartless bastards!!!

By the way, 4 - 0! And the guys in my office said I'd be way to optimistic claiming that Germany would win at least 3-0. Yeas... optimistic regarding the Aussies maybe
The funny thing about an oxymoron is, even if you remove the ox, there'll always be a moron. The Question Remains: Y?

And you thought the beheading was barbaric.

No tophat and monocle? That's cold.

A stiff upper lip is what made our empire the best in the world. Any de-monocling is undertaken with the highest amount of dignity and politeness.

Where in Canada are you living?

I'm proudly Canadian and I don't always cheer against the US no matter what. I often cheer for them, unless they're playing against one of my ancestor's country of origin (Norway, England, Denmark) or Canada. There is a lot of anti-U.S. sentiment, but it's mostly an inferiority complex because the common perception is that the U.S. doesn't think much of Canada.

Do Americans in your experience ever cheered for Canada? Or against? Or are they just surprised Canada is even competing? I don't think we've ever even been in the World Cup.

    Kitchener Ontario

Going through Highschool, out to a bar etc. Anytime U.S. plays against anyone it is an 80/20 ratio against the U.S.

In 06 U.S. played Chezck Rp. Ghana and Italy all of the games the U.S. were rooted against

This is for all Sports the one exception being in Hockey I think Canada may root for the U.S. against Russia that's it though.

I'm going to blame Redifer, as I haven't blamed him for anything in a while. What happened to that awesome collection of mods who once roams arounds Sega-16 threatening random bannings? Such happy times.

TheEdge and 17days have already been banned, there's no more need for them.

*I* honestly don't really see a great big difference between the US and Canada aside from metric and your tolerance for Quebec. It isn't like there is going to be some great culture shock if Canadians/Americans step into each others country.

If I hear some American make fun of Canada I always take it as a playful jab, because if he/she makes fun of Canada they're pretty much making fun of themselves.
