Seriously though, I don't know how anyone could call Queen's Blade simply "fanservice". It's ecchi. Fanservice is bending over with low-cut bras, panty shots, and stuff like that.
Queen's Blade is people getting their shirts ripped off, weird goo, weird girl stuff, snake fetish, and all sorts of stuff that goes way beyond simple fanservice.
Not saying Sony was right to take it off, but the show is fairly adult oriented. Definitely shows the limitations of the whole TV rating system. I mean, we've all seen M+ rated shows, but this is a bit past that.
It's not really hentai, either. Sure, there's stuff Sony has on the video that's probably worse than this. Gotta remember folks, it's a cartoon so it's obviously for kids and taking it off PSN helps protect the children. Think of the children.

Proves my theory that Japan has the has a silly/odd side.
I expect exposed titties and jiggles and all that from (some) anime. This is the silly, because it is a quirk I expect from anime. Giant gravity defying titties.
Acid spewing breasts? This the point where things stepped into the "maybe me should have held back on this" area.
The problem with anime fandom is that it's become its own insanely ridiculous subculture, ruining anime along with it. I watch anime occasionally to be entertained, not to make a fncking statement. It's evident that the quality-to-quantity ratio has dropped significantly once anime became mainstream outside of Japan.
I imagine the same thing would happen with arthouse cinema. If everyone woke up and realised that Hollywood had been feeding them crap for the past several decades they would demand more from the indie scene and it'll all go down in the drain. Sheeple do serve a purpose, and niche arts are always better off staying niche, nicht?![]()

More about the acid squirting character in question here. Taking a shower in yourself is rather... peculiar.![]()
Bah, this is nothing. Sony should put Legend of the Overfiend on the PSN and watch the shit fly!
Was this anime available in Europe too on the PSN? I know in Europe they really don't care about exposed breasts to much over there.
Watching any television show, playing any game, etc, etc just because it comes from a certain country is the most absurd logic ever. My wife and I watch the occasional anime if it is a good, well written show, regardless of the fact that it is Japanese, and therefor somehow "cool." (Only to lame nerds.) There is one show I consider a masterpiece regardless of the medium, and one movie as well (Cowboy Bebop and Akira) but beyond that, much of the anime I have seen is slow paced, and mediocre, usually due to plenty of filler content, and poor art direction.
The people defending anime without cause are the same kind of weaboos who think that Japanese invented role playing games, and who usually refer to games like Final Fantasy as "JRPG's".
People tend to also forget, as you have mentioned, that the main motivator for almost any entertainment boils down to a dollar. That dollar usually influences poor choices (such as keeping a show like Naruto on the air for 150+ filler episodes) and is a trapping which few artistic mediums in the mainstream tend to break out of.
Lol no the European and UK Psn stores are a joke. Loads of games even demos never make it out here and when they do its always weeks or months after America.
The Namco Museum Psn game took over 6 months after America to come to Europe what takes that long to Loacise early 80's arcade games that have been ported 100's of times. Look they could,nt even get a simple game like Uno up on same Date as America.
If DLC or a Download title comes out on 360 99% of the time its out everywhere on that date. Most Psn titles have no demos either somthing that is Required on the 360.
The PSN store in general is a Joke.
I agree. BITD anime was something to get excited about, and shows like Overfiend were notorious. It was all weird, violent, and cool like the Heavy Metal movie. Now it's just crap like Queen's Blade and Naruto pretending their something special, but never living up to the idea. To me Ninja Scroll was the last great anime made. Today's anime seems like it wants to convey some deeper meaning or philosophy rather than simply entertain. That's where it fails for me. Also, it doesn't help that so many of the characters seem so "forced". If there is an animated equivalent to over acting, anime is full of it.
Also, melf, if more people keep using the phrase "stfu", I'm going to have to ask that you make me an admin so I can deal with it.
Yay more anime weirdness! Honestly, I don't give a crap about anime anymore. Sure, there are some animes that I like, like Excel Saga or Initial D, but I really don't know why there's so many people that like anime. I really don't see anything special about them. Everytime I hear someone talking about some anime or manga I pretty much ask myself "What the heck are they saying?". An example is two people that I know (a guy and a girl about the same age as me) that constantly keep talking about stuff like Death Note or Hellsing, and I keep asking myself "What the heck are they talking about?"
Also, regarding this Queen's Blade thing and the main character's ability to spit out acid from her nipples, I have to say the following:
WHAT THE FUCK JAPAN?!
