    Megadrive Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker

Billiards is a much loved game in the United States. Unfortunately, most Americans are unfamiliar with the game snooker (read more about it here), something our friends in England greatly enjoy. There was even a PAL Mega Drive release that understandably never came stateside, and it's actually very good. Read our full review of Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker and see why you should consider checking this one out.

Simply the greatest billiard videogame of all time. Also, probably the thickest manual for any Mega Drive game.

    Good review.

I figured you'd be the first to comment Nunzio. I actually didn't think you'd like the review since this seems to be your favorite game. Glad you ended up liking it though and I must have at least did something right with it!

    Thanks for the compliment.

Actually out of curiosity, Melf what did you think of this game?

On the contrary, I enjoyed your story about snooker and thought the review was quite accurate. The sound is indeed terrible, but the game is great if you put on some Coltrane and turn the tv down.

It's not a cheap game by any means and will cost you a decent amount on eBay.
Seriously? You can always find it dirt cheap on UK eBay. I paid 1 for my CIB copy

Yes, but most UK sellers ship to America. As far as I can see, the NA sellers are just ripping people off.

Liked the review very much. And the sequel on PS1, Dreamcast and PC is worth a look (it has snooker, pool, darts, a slot machine and Dropzone. How can you not love it?)

And in 2003 (or 2004, I can't remember) Ignition and Archer MacLean released a GBA port but without the Jimmy White license and instead being a pool game. It's called Archer MacLean's 3D Pool. And this one did get a US release

The screenshots look clean and pretty advanced, giving a good impression of 3D... (but I've only seen screenshots)
