Default Need a Sega CDX AC Adapter

Hello everyone I am new here. I just bought a CDX yesterday for $14.99 in it's original box with three games, a controller, and the AV cables. But it came with a crappy Sony AC adapter that does not have the right voltages and it even gets interference in the sound and picture because the adapter is so weak lol. Anyway I know finding one will be tough but I thought I would ask for some help here. Thanks

    I don't have a CDX but. . . doesn't a M2 Genesis adapter work?

    Correct me if I'm wrong. . . cause I don't really know.

ps2 slim ac adapter works perfectly with cdx.
I didn't try, but psone adapter should work too(check polarity though).

The PSone AC adapter is rated 7.5V and 2.0A. I think that's a little to far off. The MultiMega/CDX ones is rated 9.5V and 1.3A.
The standard model 2 adapter probably won't have enough juice for the MM/CDX since it only outputs 0,85A.

Well, these are the ratings on the german adapters but there shouldn't be a difference. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The regular Model 2 Genesis adapter isn't powerful enough, and will damage the CDX over time.

Check ebay for a Sima SUP-60. It's voltage, and amperage are identical to the original adapter. I've tried it on both my X'eye, and CDX consoles. I keep it as a backup. It works and it's cheap. I paid $7 with shipping for mine.

Here are the originals for comparison.

Typing in "Sima SUM-60" on Ebay gives 0 results.

Edit: NVM I think you meant Sima SUP-60.

Yep, I did. My bad I didn't have it in front of me when I wrote that, but the pics have the right part number! Thanks for the correction. I wouldn't have noticed.

No thank you for posting that. Now I don't have to worry about getting a JVC X eye without a power supply when I finally buy one.

It'll work, but it's not providing enough power for the laser and other components. It will eventually cause problems to the point where the CD side of the system no longer works. It's best just to buy an equivalent adapter instead of risking these expensive systems by under powering them. The one I mentioned above puts out exactly what the X'eye, and CDX need. Which is why I bought it, and am recommending it now.

Yeah, I don't have an AC Adapter for my CDX either, it came with a Model 2 one and the laser is a tad messed up, some games won't load at all and others load very slowly. I haven't used it in months though.

I'll have to look up the Sima SUP-60, don't want to damage the system since it's going to be my primary Genesis.
