i have that prroblem sometimes with these homemade GameGenie codes
just checked the codes they work for me on my genesis 1 with no problemsOriginally Posted by David J.
I do not have "almost infinate lives". I get a contuine screen after my lives are all used up, but a limited number of them, and I still hurt by just about every enemy.
I just want to see what versions I have at the end of the game, the different cart labels tip me off.

are the codes not working on both carts
It doesn't seem so. A level modifer code would make me happy.

The codes work perfectly for me. That indicates that there are two versions definitely.
I have pics! They are teh suck, so beware! As you can see the Mystic Defender is a bit bigger on one cart, and The Genesis Logo on the front label is slightly different, the one with the big label is kind of bland, but the one with the smaller font is a bit darker and this should have nothing to do with age.

Joe, I recall you bought a lot of Genesis games when it was still young, do you own a copy from, say when it FIRST came out? Which label do you have? Have you beat the game?
If so, that'll square this away, well I hope.

Well, the cheat codes DO work with the bigger "Mystic Defender" on the cart, I presume you have that version, and I suppose that is the first version.
If either of you have beat it and the final boss is nude, then it is the first version. And the one with the smaller "Mystic Defender" is the second version.
Thanks!

i have the one with the small Mystic Defender font on top
Hmm... I guess I'll just play through the game tommorow night, now that one of them works with the nearly infinate life. When I loose all of my lives I get a contuine screen, do you get that?

Something is up, I tried these codes on an emulator with both revisions, and they work perfectly, but NOT on real hardware, and from the pics you see I own the game.
Hell, I tried the codes on both revisions in emulators and they worked, and I got to the end of the game! What the hell?!
