Default A look at the SEGA Game Gear box covers for 1991,1992,1997

I stumbled across this image that contained some of the classic SEGA Game Gear boxes, the one I had was the one pictured on the right. Notice it has the Genesis Sonic the Hedgehog printed on the screen. I remember as a kid I wondered why that title intro still on the box was completely different from the in-game. (This was before I had a Genesis of course )

Haha, wow. Interesting on the Sonic intro box shot.

I can't find a pic of my GG box anywhere. It was a launch system w/ the glass screen and Columns packed in. I could go dig it out of the attic but, you know, it's in the attic.

Man, I just had a flashback to when I first played Game Gear. I was in a high end dentists office in the mid nineties in the waiting room. I thought it was amazing they had a Game Gear, because nobody I knew (or have known since) ever actually had one.

I played some Spider-Man game. And there was a ninja turtle on the ceiling above the dentist chair.

That's great, I have excellent memories from my Game Gear, specially playing Jurassic Park.

Wow. That's pretty bad. There wasn't a single shot from an actual Game Gear in that. I would've been PISSED.

I actually had (maybe still do) that handheld back in the late 90s... not becaude of that commercial, but the equally deceptive packaging.

I mean there's far worse LCD dedicated type games out there, but that ad.

Also, does anyone know if that music is based on anything actually in 3D blast, or is it something else? (I seem to recall hearing it once, but I could never find it again in the sound test) Or maybe Sonic 3 rather as that music was the same as used for the preceding sonic 3 tiger handheld.

Before the launch of Game.com I knew anything from Tiger Electronics back then was unplayable garbage.
