I was half joking about that, but when a (Bro) Country singer is using a beat box instead of a real drummer, I'm flipping the station. And the same goes for any other genre/artist that is using that garbage.

The last couple of gens have marked the era when music is taken seriously and given huge resources budgets and hundreds of sound channels and when you get music composers from Hollywood trying their hand at game music scores.
For me, part of the trouble is there is so much quality sound in games these days, its hard to hear the music in it all

Music is very subjective but this is just some of the tracks I love this gen

You are taking a joke way too literal and it was referring to mainstream music not video game music. Also, I love game OSTs in any generation and still buy CDs for them.

Life!? ... What console is that on?

Also, the Tengen version of Marble Madness "doesn't play anywhere near as well as EA's version" -- whaaaaaaaat? The Tengen version is light-years better! I wouldn't bother trying to use the Mega Mouse with it, but with a gamepad it controls perfectly, whereas the EA version is sluggish and wonky. The EA version is easier, but that's a different issue.

Yeah. Itís just that Dave doesnít have the time to play and record a bunch of gameplay, along with doing commentary for each game. Just sitting down and playing a game with an old friend isnít as time consuming.

I was watching the episode of playing with sacks where they play castlevania bloodlines. Just wanted to point out to Joe if he reads this that Eric Lecarde has another attack which I didn't see you guys using. If you hold the attack button then go left to right or right to left he will do an attack where he spins his spear really fast. Comes in handy for killing medusa heads etc. I didn't see it mentioned in any of the comments. Also you've probably already seen this but in case you haven't the color improvement hack on castlevania bloodlines is highly recommended. I can barely stand the sight of the original colors.

This thread hasn't seem activity for a while... New episode though!

Looking back, it's amazing how poorly the Vita did compared to the PSP. You would think the successor to the PSP would sell well, but apparently not. Was it high costs, marketing, competition from other platforms, the memory card thing, something else maybe?

I remember by the time the PSP had been out for a few years or so, I and almost all my friends had a PSP. I can only think of one person that had a Vita during the system's entire lifespan. Too bad, because it looks like a really cool system.

    Modded consoles:
Master System (v7040) with s-video & direct AV out
Model 1 with 10mhz overclock & halt switches
    Model 1 with 10mhz 68010
    Model 2 VA2.3 with unfiltered Mega Amp, & s-video
    Model 3 VA1 with compatibility fixes & s-video
    32X with s-video

As much as I love the Vita. It never had a chance because Sony never gave it one. Yes, memory cards played a big factor. Bad marketing. Sony didn't support it much past 2013. They partnered with AT&T and got booed on stage. They had a $250 model that was Wifi only and the $300 AT&T one. They quickly abandoned the latter. Sucked for them. When PS4 came out, they just stopped marketing it other than a passing mention on stage. Sony failed the Vita before Vita even launched. One of my fave handhelds ever. Dreamcast of handhelds. A lot of good games from 3rd parties. Nearly it's entire library is a hidden gem lol.

Yeah I also want to point, how much fun is to play with Eric than that wimpy John. Character design is much cool and the gameplay is much better too!

Sony really had their heads up their asses with their proprietary memory cards.

With the release of the Slim, they at least released the Maxi Pack which was somewhat standard here in Germany (as in, the only thing stocked in stores). It came with an 8 GB memory card and some games. I think I snatched one of those for 100 EUR back in December 2014. A lot of those games were PSP ones running on the Vita's emulator, but it was still a great value.
Since they were download only you couldn't even fit all of them on the memory card it came with.

By that point however it wasn't marketed as much and public perception was in the mindset of 'Oh, it's an interesting system, but no games that interest me', 'it has no games', 'it's a japanese visual novel machine'. I was the only one in my circle who had one, no one else wanted one. Now everybody wants one though, I assume this is because public perception has changed significantly through places like YouTube.

I'm so glad for hacks like SD2Vita, they really make the system much more usable. I remember the highest you could go for in terms of memory cards in the west was 32 GB memory cards. The 64 GB ones were Japan only - there supposedly were 128 GB ones as well but with the 64 GB ones already costing you over 100 USD to import back in 2015 it wasn't even worth considering. I got a 128 GB Sandisk in mine and got all my PSP and Vita stuff downloaded onto it. A lot of amazing titles are digital only, so it's a must.
