    Default Shining force 3 question

I've been playing shining force 3 via emulator lately. I'm aware that scenarios 2 and 3 were never released in the U.S. I'm pretty sure certain things you do in scenario 1 effect scenario 2 and 3 (like stuff you can do to get certain characters ect) anyway i was wondering if your stuff could carry over from the U.S version scenario 1 to a japenese version scenario 2. Because if not I'm probably going to say screw playin this U.S version and try and find a patched japanese version or something.

I figured it was likely someone on this site would know the answer to this. I appreciate the help

I need to finish Scenario 2, I loved the first game, there's probably even a fan translation out there now.

I liked 3 but it did seem to lack the charm of the Genesis games.

Yeah, 3 was great in its own right, but 2 is still tops in my book. SF3 is a shining (haha) example of a great game to have all three scenarios remade in HD and translated. Primarily because the game needs to be enjoyed to its full extent - not just 1/3 of it. And because the game isn't too valuable and it won't impact the collector's market too much.

If I remember correctly, playing through Scenario 1 in english causes the playable character names in the next two games to become english as well. I'm guessing that most playable characters in the scenarios had their names listed in the first game's save file and the english version's english list carries over.

I'm the biggest Shining Force fan around and even though part 1 will always be the favorite, it's easy for me to say that the SFIII games have the best gameplay. It's too bad that they went with a pre-rendered style for SFIII and pretty much every game they made that generation. The jump to real-time 3D maps brought a lot to the gameplay though and every aspect of the interface was tighten up and improved. They even built upon Shining Force CD's legacy system.

Too bad we haven't had a proper Shining Force game since.

Yeah, that is a bold statement. How do you weigh the Shining Force fanaticism of one person against that of another person? I too then claim to be Shining Force fan #1.

You're all sissies! I'm the only one here that has attempted to actually hack apart the game by hand! I even attempted to learn 68k ASM for the cause!... you'd be surprised how easy it is to forget a programming language.

How about we admit this. All the real #1 fans jack themselfs onto Shining Force Central.
