Hey guys. I'm SketchTurner94 and have been born with a Genesis controller in my hand. I have a Model 1 and 2 with a non-working CD and a 32X. My parents never got many games for it. Then, I got into retro gaming, found a store that sells old games fifteen minutes away, then bought some.

I might region mod my Genesis. Which JAP/PAL Mega Drive games I should pick up (except the obvious Alien Soldier, Pulseman, Panorama Cotton, Wily Wars)? Which would be bargains?

It's coming along well, hoping for a release some time this summer. Roadkill's been doing fine too.

Hi, my name is Daniel, I'm a video game collector (I collect mostly Sega) from Sweden, Karlstad.

I've been meaning to join this forum for a long time but I never got around to doing so, I think this forum seem to suit me well and who doesn't want to discuss Sega.

I guess I should probably introduce myself.

I'm Phosis, and I originally got back into "the scene" when I was about six. I'm twenty-four now, and in a futile attempt to relive my better, more nostalgic days so that I can drown out the sounds of my wife yelling at me every time I leave the toilet seat up, I decided to start collecting again. When I was a kid, I had around ten games. Now, I have around sixty-five. I don't really give a damn about CIB, though there are a few I wouldn't mind having; I just like having a strong collection so that my frantic, permafried ADD brain doesn't get too bored with the monotony of playing the first level of Contra over and over again because I'm too shitty at it to get past the third stage. I used to help run the biggest, best Ecco the Dolphin fansite, until everyone up and left because they realized that the game is a frustrating mess, and NOBODY CAN GET PAST THAT LEVEL WHERE YOU HAVE TO FIGHT THE ASTERITE, EVER.

One of my favorite titles on the Sega is Musha, closely followed by the Sonic series. Been taking a shine to Beyond Oasis lately as well.

On a more personal note, I like to write in my free time. I self-published a novella in 2009 about cops and guns or something, I run a humor blog called Degenerate Diatribe, and I've published this and that with short stories, essays, etc. My greatest dream is to write the best Sonic fan fiction ever, which I have deduced is completely unattainable, since there isn't a very strong market for a story about a blue mouse that fights an overweight psychopath in an attempt to find multi-colored jewels so that he can replace a few mechanical flowers with real ones in the tile-based field he calls his home. So alas, I think I will stick to original work that is only slightly less ridiculous, and instead of flagrantly plagiarizing the work of other, much more successful people, I'm just going to sit on my ass and play the damn games instead.

I also unnofically hold the Twin Galaxies record for highest score in Sonic the Hedgehog 1, but have never bothered to send in my videos because nobody was really keeping score in that game anyways, and it's way too easy to beat the current world record of "I just barely passed the game and managed to get a somewhat mediocre score but am going to submit it anyways since the only other guy who cares doesn't know how to set up his camera properly to catch images on his TV."

    480,000.

Yeah, see, it doesn't really matter.

    Greetings,

my name is Jean-Marc, I'm basically a primary school teacher from France who grew up playing sega megadrive/genesis and saturn.

This site is just a wonderful source for info, and people seems to be quite nice on these boards. If you don't mind, I think I'll stick here for a moment

Hello there. My name'is Matt. I'm 20 and from southeast Pennsylvania. I've been coming to this site for a good number of years now, but never felt like joining the forum until now.

Despite the alias (It's just something that's stuck with me for about a decade), I've always been a huge Sega fan through and through. My favorite system is the Genesis. I'm also a big collector of video games, owning a little over 550 games, 70 of which are for the Genesis alone. My favorite games include Dynamite Headdy, Sonic CD, Ristar, Rocket Knight Adventures, Super Metroid, God Hand, among a ton of others.

Hi, I'm Zach. New to the board, live in Seattle, Washington. I have a pretty extensive collection of games, but on the Sega side of things I have a Genesis model 1, 2, and 3, two Dreamcasts, and too many games to name off in one post.

    Atari2600 Who Am I? Am I Who U Thought I Was?

    Hello all,
My name is Chris and I am a gamer at heart. I have collected games and game items for years now and it's time to get rid of them. I'm keeping certain select items and parting with others. I have a vast Sega collection and will post items here for sale maybe trade if you pm me an offer. If I have a price listed, just pm me if you think it's too much and make me an offer. I need to clear out things to make room for my second child in 2010...
I live in Michigan and enjoy talkin' games, mainly classics, but I do some newer stuff. Pm me even if it's just to talk about games.

Hope this is an exciting adventure,
    Chris

Hi Everyone. I enjoy collecting old computers and video game systems, and I am a huge Sega hardware fan. I mainly collect Sega stuff, Apple stuff, and some oddball PC stuff (IBM PS/2, OS/2 Warp, Windows NT)

I just stumbled upon this site while looking for hints for Ground Zero Texas.

Been playing Genesis games since the model 1 release that came with Sonic the Hedgehog (with the not for resale sticker).

A year or so ago I picked up a jvc x'eye and really love it as I never really played Sega CD games back in the day. Most of the CD games I own are pretty crappy but I'm enjoying going through the more fun FMV offerings.

Haven't delved into the 32x and no titles it offers really jump out at me.

I'm big into classic gaming from this era these days and also have a jaguar/jaguar cd and turbo duo. I'd say the Duo has the best CD games of the 3, but the Sega CD is definitely well ahead of jag.

    I'm in Los Angeles btw.

Hey, I'm Mariano, aka M4R14NO94 (or M4R14NO in MobyGames and the SHMUPS forum) from Argentina. The nickname came from about 4 years ago when me and my brother were making our names in the style of the title of Driver 3 (DRIV3R, that is). The 94 on it was added by me on YouTube because apparently the nickname M4R14NO was already there. I've been playing games since I was about 2 or 3 years old with the utter awesomeness that was the PC version of Daytona USA, and for my 4th birthday I got a really sweet present: a Genesis model 2 with Nigel Mansell's World Championship (which I traded it with a cousin for Alien Storm... and I never saw it ever again ). I was registered for a very short time on the SHMUPS forum (my signature was "Another post by M4R14NO, one of THE GREATEST FANS OF SHMUPS ALIVE!" or something like that) and the Bizarre Creations forum (in which I was there for an even shorter time, a couple of weeks I believe. All that I did there was to put threads about ScrewAttack's The Scoop about The Club and Benzaie's Games You Might Don't Know about Wiz 'n Liz, which one user said "The video: lame. The game: awesome"). I'm also in MobyGames, as M4R14NO as well, mostly contributing trivia about games

Default Hi everyone, newbie Atarian here...

I am an Atari guy so I usually post on AtariAge!

In the Sega category I have a Sega Genesis with CD (actually I have two, one front-loader and one topload at the moment, but more on that later), Saturn, and Dreamcast. I have at various times also owned a SMS (both the console and the base adapter). I have two Game Gears that need fixing.

I have recently come on to this site because I got a deal on some Sega CD stuff that was too good to refuse. Some of the games were sealed so I am selling those first because I only collect games I can play. This site has been pretty handy when it comes to looking up what is worth playing, what is worthless, etc. I also learned that I fried my topload CD attachment by plugging it into a SMS base station power adapter. So now I need to fix that, probably around when I recap the Game Gears! I gotta lotta work to do...

Today I have been testing games. So far one of my favorites was Sol Feace and I had some good laughs out of Night Strike. My wife and I played Jeopardy this evening and the load times were unbearable. I am definitely going to try to unload that one! Plus, Alex looks creepy with his porn 'stache.

All in all I know there are some good games in there that I will not part with, but my space is limited so I will probably be selling some stuff. I hate it when people come on to forums and immediately start spamming about their auctions and stuff so I will refrain for now because it's not about the money for me--I just really like games and talking about them. And now I have all these new games to talk about, and do some wheeling-dealing later on.

Tomorrow I am going to start playing Vay, which I have heard is awesome.

Other things I collect: Atari (EVERYTHING), Intellivision, and NES. I have a Playstation 2 and Wii, that's about as modern as I got.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello.
