Great review! I have wanted the "This is Cool" Saturn for years. It's my second favorite Saturn with the LCD HiSaturn coming in first.

I love the look of that model Saturn. Reminds me of the purple see-through Game Boy Color that everyone wanted back in the day.

Great review. I have a Skeleton as well and it was fried when I bought it. I ripped out it's guts and replaced them with those of a ratty, nappy, beat up Hitachi Saturn I had laying around. Works like a champ. LOL Love those Hitachi Saturns.

I bought me a brand-new Derby Stallion Skeleton Saturn w/ 4 new Japanese games+ a neat programmable 3rd party control pad all for $120 back in February 2002. Kept it around as a "treasure" in my collection w/o playing it for years. Sold it along with the rest of my cart-based video game collection in January 2006.....they only gave me $30 for the Saturn, because they didn't consider it "new" seeing as I told them I had opened it (but never played it, much less plugged it in).

Ouch! ...They actually made less of these units than the "This is cool" model ....

My Tectoy skeleton is essentially a Derby Stallion model, just with some weird Tectoy configuration settings..For example: PAL-M mode, Japanese bios (but doesn't play NTSC-J games :P) and different labels..

Very cool. Lots of threads making me want to get into Saturn collecting but I'm too poor to jump onto yet another console right now.

Thanks guys. I think I might track down a HiSaturn to throw on the shelf. I already have the HiSaturn VCD card installed in the Skeleton!

Ah yes, I remember reading your tragic story a few years ago. Not too long ago I was trying to remember who said it, guess it was you.

On an unrelated note, that sealed Primal Rage 32X has been chilling in a box with a bunch of other sealed games. I hope the 'Zak man approves.

I don't have the whole Saturn, but managed to grab a couple of the controllers. Also, since you mentioned the purple GBCs, for some reason I keep finding them. I think that I have 3 of them stuck away somewhere.
