I think I owned this game for a short while a few years ago but i just never got around to playing it and ended up selling it off.


And yes, Starman rules. That flying elbow/whatever he does is the single funniest wrestling move ever. Two frames of animation: Hit face, down on mat.

A friend of mine had this on the SNES, it wasn't too bad from what I remember. As for it not having a license, that wasn't really a problem since many of the characters were parodies of well known wrestling superstars.

Yeah, that was never really a problem since the characters were a bit more well done than other generic wrestling games.

Tecmo World Wrestling > Pro Wrestling Better graphics, gameplay, terrific cutscenes for the special moves, and I liked the commentators though it's pretty difficult to keep an eye on what they're saying while playing the game.

I like Saturday Night Slam Masters okay, but I don't think a console wrestling game had enough depth to sustain my interest until FirePro 6-Men Scramble on Saturn.

So... does anyone know a definite reason Capcom completely removed the 2-on-2 options for the Sega port, yet left it in the SNES one?

It obviously wouldn't be a sprite issue as there are multiple examples of games handling a hell of a lot more on-screen characters than Slam Masters' pitiful 2 character limit. Was it as simple as a color limitation issue?

Yu Yu Hakusho: Makyo Toitsusen (Yu Yu Hakusho Sunset Fighters in Brazil) have a 4 players mode. 2 palettes (32 colors) for 4 players:

Yu Yu Hakusho is also colored like a SMS game.

It wouldn't be arcade accurate, but for Saturday Night Slam Masters they should have just had teams share a full palette and let the player choose from a section of color schemes.
