You need to press the down and left button together.

I ran this on my Xbox and I have to say, it is a rather unique fighter for the old Genesis.

Well, ever since reading this article I've been searching high and low for a physical copy of this game...and I finally got it.

I had to order it from a Genesis pirate hack collector in Argentina of all places...as far as I can tell, this is one of only two confirmed physical copies in the world (the other being on display in the Super Potato Shop in Japan).

    Pics:

I would shoot a video of me actually inserting it and turning it on, but I'm embarrassed about my messy apartment.

    $30 shipped.

It took about a month to get here, but it's here. Since the seller shipped late, he even threw in a Chinese copy of Lion King 2/II.

For some reason the game won't work with the Game Genie workaround, so I had to take the entire top off of my Model 2 to get it to fit. Without a Game Genie it works like a charm.

    30,$ is a steal!
Would you mind sharing the contact to that collector? I am very interested in pirates too; I have King of Fighters 98 and a 7-in-1-compilation with Tetris.

if the pirate carts are so rare like that one, how can 30$ be a ripoff, especially when the game is "original" not some Sonic2 on unofficial cart.

A steal is not a ripoff. And it is $30, not the other way around .

Heh, I've got KoF 98 as well...good stuff (humor wise).

He's a contact on another forum. I'm currently awaiting to see if he has any more...if he does, I'll pass on that there are other buyers on this forum. He's a highly regarded member/seller on that forum, so it shouldn't be a big deal.

    I finally got one.
    Got it from Avellaneda Pieyro...Argentina
I got the "official" case and insert too.
I gotta play this after dinner...Will post pics after I try it.
The was affraid when I pick up my package thinkin it was all smashed up from the sounds it made.
But upon opening found that the cart came loose and since there are no screws in the cart (?) the game board was loose in the game case.whew!
The box is different from any sega box I own. And the insert looks professionally done,,,really thick gloss paper...as thick as a maybe 3-4 sheets of photo paper...
Gotta get dinner ready..cant wait to play this...
BTW the game board (since it was out) looks REALLY weird. Not like any I have seen before, has some Black on the top...well you see in my pics.
This is the most awesome day in years for me!!
    I feel like im 10 again..lol

OK so here are the pix of the Case,Cart & Chip.
Thes case has a EXTRA grainy texture to it..makes the insert underneth look nowhere are good as it actually does out of the case.
The Sticker on the cart is a nice gloss type, but it has lost some of its tackyness to the back half of the cart.
Why the no screws in the cart? Also I noticed it looks as if the cart was pryed open fro the bottom maybe...there are groove on both side of the inner cart slot middle?
And whats with the BLACK on the board?
Has anyone ever seen the "semi" complete package of this?
Who else has one here other than KanYozakura?
I played it...its not a bad game at all for a hack.
The characters look very good and very colorful.
Voice samples are not bad..The game over voice is LOL funny.
It seems to use only 2 buttons B & C, but A acts like a rapid fire button only while holding it down then pressing B.
    Thats about all for now.
    Tell me what you think.
If anyone want better or other pictures let me know.
Id be happy to answer any other questions too.
I just think this is cool, never get things like this.

I have to search for such a thing here in Brazil. I remember playing most of these pirate "oringinals" fighters, that ones featuring Tekken, The King of Fighters and such. But I never noticed this bizarre "Top Fighter 2000" here.

Many of pirated carts I had in my childhood (all of them were popular games with only a garbled SEGA logo or copyright screens removed) came in boxes like that one. But our cartridge format is the american one, not the japanese used in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.

While in Argentina I found a cart labeled "Mortal Kombat 8" (see my recent feature for a picture), which is in actuality Top Fighter 2000. So if you ever saw Mortal Kombat 8, that probably was that game.

I would love to own some of these hk-originals, especially Top Fighter and the KOF carts.

but 30 bucks is just too much for crap like this, fun crap but crap nonetheless.

too bad they all use the same bad fighting engine, i bet they decompiled SF2
and just didn't spend any time actually fixing the outcome.

which brings me to mind, anyone ever thought of decompiling SF2 for Genny?
imagine if that worked, we could make our own fighters that actually fought good.
