Default These Majesto (Made In Mexico) carts that won't fit in a GEN1 are driving me nuts!!

Okay, that is three times now (Family Feud, Caesars Palace, now Risk) that I've inadvertently received a Genesis cartridge that (as I later discovered) are of the rereleased Majesto kind. You can tell they are because they are slightly thicker (you can easily tell by the top/side grooves) and read "Made in Mexico" on the back.

So what's so wrong about these you might ask? Because of them being thicker, they will not properly fit in a Genesis 1, which is what I use. I'm guessing when Majesto made these it was with the Genesis 2 in mind.

Is there a list of what games got these rereleases so I'll know about them in the future? And even better still, anyone here got a non-Made in Mexico version of Risk, Caesars Palace, and Family Feud needing a good home?

Buy a 32X. If you can find revision MK-84000A, Japanese games will even fit tightly.

Will the Power Base Convertor II work on it? If not I'm out of luck in that regard.

Think Genesis Model 3 rather than 2, since Majesco was responsible for designing and producing that abomination Version of the console. Using a passthrough Cart is probably your best Option for using the games on a Model 1 Genesis.

There is a comprehensive but (probably) incomplete List of games reissued by Majesco over at the Digitpress Forums.

I'll try to Compile all the Majesco-released games listed at Digitpress into a single Post (please forgive me if I Miss the odd title; Information supplied without liability):

    Tom & Jerry: Frantic Antics!
    Frogger
    Sonic 3D Blast
    Castlevania: Bloodlines
    Contra: Hard Corps
    F-22 Interceptor
    Jungle Strike
    Desert Strike
    (Mario) Andretti Racing
    Animaniacs
    Clayfighters
    Sonic 3D Blast
Taz in Escape From Mars (Mega Hit Series)
    Vectorman (Mega Hit Series)
    Vectorman 2
World of Illusion with Mickey and Donald
    Arcade Classics
    Jurassic Park
Road Rash II (EA game with small cart)
    Sonic Classics
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Mega Hit Series)
Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster's Hidden Treasure
    (Disney's) Toy Story
    Sega 6-Pak
    Urban Strike
    Klax
    TNN Bass Fishing

Games Reissued by Ballistic, not Majesco:

    Aaahh!! Real Monsters
    Beavis and Butthead
    Caesar's Palace
    Clue
    Earthworm Jim
    Family Feud
    Monopoly
    Pac-man 2 The New Adventures
    Risk
    Super Battleship
    Wheel of Fortune

These oddly shaped carts are probably from the Accolade/Ballistic mold.

Nice list, looks like it's not Majesco's fault here.

Oh gawd no! Don't buy this unholy abomination that disgraced Sega and by extension, the fanbase, just for this.

Buy a Genesis 3 or something instead. It was made by Majesgo, will probably work! You're going to need a separate powerbrick & cables with the 32X anyway. No less inconvenient.

I do apologize for butting in, but I own a copy of Sonic 3 with the Made In Mexico stamp. It's cart is an Acclaim cart with the Mega Hits Series label.

It doesn't work though. I don't know if the EPROM burnt out or if the cart is just dead.............

    .....
There might be an explanation for this:

"Three games in the series, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Taz in Escape from Mars and Vectorman were known to be released twice under this label. Some versions have the Sega Seal of Quality in the bottom left hand corner, while presumably later releases do not. No other games in the series carry the seal."
Apparently some games in the Mega Hits-Series were reissued with the Accolade/Ballistic cartridge Shell:

"The Ballistic brand name still made an appearance, publishing third-party games in the North American region (though this time, with a license). It was responsible for publishing two games in the Mega Hit Series."
The same source Claims that X-Men 2: Clone Wars was also re-released by Ballistic.

Here's also a List of all games Reissued in the Mega Hit series:
    Desert Demolition
    Ecco: The Tides of Time
    Eternal Champions
    Mega Bomberman
    Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
    Sonic the Hedgehog 3
    Super Monaco GP
    Taz in Escape from Mars
    Vectorman
    X-Men 2: Clone Wars

No. 32X lacks Master System support.

But Power Base Convertor II means you're already used to swapping. It doesn't work for Genesis games after all.

I'm an American. Here 32x defied the rest of the world's logic to become far and away more successful, by the admittedly pitiful standards of 32x.

I disagree. My 32x has been nothing but absolutely useful to me. Not only is it a 32x, it's Composite encoder is quite good. And, of course, the cart slot.

Yeah, between a 32X and a Genesis 3, the 32X wins hands down. Genesis games look good on it and it has a decent library worth playing.
