Hey Lucasarts always make good games Star Wars or not (even though 99% of there games are the greatest film triolgy of all time) and this is one of there best games of the 16-bit era, next to of course their star wars games

Maniac Mansion is another great LucasArts product. I had a grand amount of fun with the NES version back in the day. Weird Ed with his Weird Edsel... clever!

    Good but sometimes unfair

The lack of the item-saving feature is a big problem. The game is really fun with 2 players, nonetheless. I never really found it repetitive.

Great game, especially with 2 players to compare scores.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors (the title used for this game in PAL regions is known as Zombies) was the fourth Sega Genesis game I played. I am aware that a Super Nintendo version of this game exists, although I've never played that version. Are there any differences between the SNES and Sega Genesis versions of Zombies Ate My Neighbors? Are there any weapons that are exclusive to either version, are there any additional features in one version that aren't in the other?

    Yes, yes, and no.
The Genesis/Mega Drive is a port of the SNES version. The SNES one has better graphics, sound and music. It also has the flame thrower weapon that's missing from Sega's version.
Furthermore, in the Sega version, the graphics look squished together and the aspect ratio is incorrect, because of the black sidebar that contains item pickups and a radar map. The SNES does not have this black bar and uses a pop-up minimap.
Retro Sanctuary explains it in greater detail if you want to know more.

Obviously, go for the SNES version if you can get it.

I didn't find anything special about either version. Zombies Ate My Neighbors is overrated in my opinion. Quite a mediocre game on either 16 bit console.
I don't play old stuff for nostalgia, I play old stuff because the games are better.

    Response to Oils (comment #23)

Thank you for the informative comment. If/when I decide to purchase another SNES console, Zombies Ate My Neighbors will be one of the games I will buy for it.

This game is great. I've played it for years now. I'll agree with the 8 out 10 review. You can't start the game over at a upper level without the benefits of weapons collected throughout the game. Does anyone remember the George Lucas bonus area?

Graphics not horizontally squashed, better use of colour, better audio, higher quality samples, more audio samples, opinion based but better controls imo, no Flamethrower on Genesis, transparent status bar.

I had the Megadrive version growing up and it's more than serviceable, but it's still a downgraded SNES port at the end of the day.
