Meh Best of the Best: Championship Karate

Karate tournament simulations arenít meant to be games one can just jump kick right into. Instead, the player is expected to learn the ins and outs of competition and improve with time. Some titles. like Budokan, do this reasonably well. Others, namely Best of the Best, are TKOed in the first round due to repetitive and uninspired gameplay. Read our full review for more details.

When I was younger I really liked this game. I had a fun time training my guy and climbing the ranks to the top.

    Today, not so much.

I always wanted to love this game, but there are so many bad reviews and hate for it that I only gave it a try once,
it had so many options that I got confused and had to go take a nap.

I just remember this game being shown at some store, maybe Babbages or KB with the activator and I couldn't get that damn thing to work. This game had terrible hitboxes anyway which made using the activator like 100x worse. My memory is fuzzy on that whole experience but yeah I wouldn't say this is the worst game on the Genesis or SNES but it's not really memorable either.

Best review I've read on Sega-16 in a while. One of my favorite corny old action movies. I used to love this game, and rented it a LOT through the years. Haven't played it since. Great review Bas.
I don't play old stuff for nostalgia, I play old stuff because the games are better.
