Photoshop help request

Hi there!

I don't have Photoshop, and if I had it I would have been awful at using it. That's why I'm asking YOU to help me. You see, the Happy Console Gamer made a video about video game shirts a while ago, and showed how he and Rob Man made their own shirts. This is the video:



That inspired me to make a game shirt of my own. Well, hoodie actually. So I bought a hoodie, the paper needed to iron on the motifs and have scanned the artworks I want have on the hoodie. It's these ones:



This one needs to have the kanjis/katakanas/hiraganas edited away from Xi-Tiger, the character on the right. Probably the hardest of all to do.





This one needs to be cleaned up (especially that thingy on the N) and have the black removed.





This one needs the artwork of the character cut out from all the yellow (including the right armpit area). The logo isn't needed.


Can anyone do that? Thanks! Let me know what you want in return and I'll see what I can do.

Have you tried using GIMP? It's a free image editor that's similar to Photoshop and is actually compatible with some photoshop files.

No, I've only heard of it but never tried it. Gonna check it out tomorrow, now I'm off to sleep.

GIMP has a bit of a learning curve, but it does what Photoshop does at a much better price.

What is the intended format? .PNG, .GIF, .JPG, none specific?

Perhaps some of the image details could be simplified - colors could be flatten to get rid of some grain, I don't have any experience with fabric printing.

Hey Zebbe, your inbox is full. I just about finished cutting out everything (after painting out that text) you asked for, but the the power just went out on my block. I'll finish it off and send you links once the power comes back on (sending message this from my phone). If it's too late, I'll just have to finish it off tomorrow.

Did you want the characters and logo arranged together in a particular way? Do you know what kind of file type(s) you need?

Alright, I got the power back on and even though I lost more progress than I hoped, I still managed to finish everything off this evening. Here are some jpegs on white. I have the images cut out, so they can go against anything or if the printer can use them, I can host links to the raw photoshop files.

Oooh! Nice job Black_Tiger! I just noticed that there is a small grey spot on the "N" and another one on the bottom right corner of the "D" that needs to be cleaned up on the text. But other than that it looks great! A once over with the "stamp" tool should fix those two spots up!

I wish I could help. I love taking photos but I'm awful at manipulating them. If you use Gimp, try reading the manual for what you're doing, I think it can help quite a bit.

Also, googling questions on Gimp can be very helpful because it's such a confusing program, somebody else has asked that question before you!

Thanks a TON everyone! I'll use one from each guy: the logo from The Coop, Epsilon-Eagle from Black_Tiger (to get a bit of "glow" around the character) and Xi-Tiger from Lync (you kept those red "blocks" on the knees ). PM me what you want for this and we'll work something out .

I'll show the shirt when I have made progress. I just gotta find a printer now :P.

Then I'll clean up the logo a little more, make sure I didn't miss anything, and then upload a PNG-24 for you to use tonight so that there's no white to be cut out (not to mention, that's only a mid-quality jpg I posted).

Just remember when you're doing the iron ons the quality of the final product really depends on how well you trim up the image before you iron it on. I did a PC Engine onesie for my daughter but skipped the trimming since she'll only be able to wear it for a couple months anyway and the decrease in quality definitely shows quickly.
