    Default El Viento

Wolf Team was on fire during the 16-bit era, producing several Genesis titles that varied from mediocre to excellent (depending on who you ask). One thing the group liked to do was create action games, and a fan favorite of the genre is Wolf Team's El Viento. Spanish for "the wind," the game tells the odd tale of a young girl out to stop the resurrection of an ancient demon in New York City. Come read our full review, and see the first chapter of the saga that continued in Earnest Evans and then culminated on the Mega CD's Anet Futatabi.

Despite the lack of color and the giant ugly explosions that look like they're straight out of the SNES (since the SNES loves blocky graphics), I really like El Viento. It is definitely the best game in the unofficial series.

I love the signature Wolf Team explosions. All its games have them.

I didn't know manga chicks existed back in the '20s. How did they die out?

    I love El Viento!

Too bad that Earnest Evans really sucked.

yes, el viento is quite a fun game. Curse those darn bats in the last level though, those things really hound our attractive manga babe.

I think I wrote a review for this game on Gamefaqs, I think. Either way, if I did, I'm not really bothered. Anyway, this game is AWESOME. Earnest Evans was meh, and Anet Again was a bit too tough for me.

But either way, this game is just awesome all around, while the other two games pale in comparsion.

Im not sure what to make of this yet.. While I like how it's so different from other games in the genre, the controls could've used some more polish and some of the level designs are just.. weird.

This game doesn't get talked about much here. I find the game good. I haven't given it much play lately and remember using cheat codes for unlimited magic moves. Maybe I won't be lazy and try to beat it no cheats.

Heh, funny thing is, last night I played this game for the first time ever. The dashing move makes this game extremely fast and addicting.
    Good review.

    Game creative staff, Wolfteam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blocky explorsion is quite funny in El Viento and for odd reason I never thought about it since the first day I got this game. Music is one of top five

Earnest Evans has control problem but I still love to play it once per week :P

Its a shame El Viento and Earnest Evans haven't been updated for the new game systems. Kinda like Valis, all these games would be awesome on next gen systems.
