    Default Mr. Nutz

Oh my dear Sonic, what have you started? It seems that your breakout success sparked a deluge of would-be mascots that felt they had the same spark you did, but when the dust finally settled, those that weren't buried under the piles of unsold cartridges wallowed in misery at the unemployment office. Some were thankfully lost to time, and others like Mr. Nutz got another fifteen minutes of fame with a attempted comeback in the modern era, which is about fourteen more then he deserved. Read our full review of Mr. Nutz and learn why sometimes, you really shouldn't feed the squirrels.

I downloaded the ROM and tried it out because the graphics looked really colorful. Ug! It's awful! The graphics aren't too shabby, though.

Like Hidden_Darkness eludes to, the title of this game is pretty, ummm, comical. The mags would have had a field day with this one if it was released in the USA.

I always imagined Mr Nutz to be almost identical to Ristar.

I CANG UNDERSTANG why game companies get away with titles like that. I mean, Mr. Nutz. Didn't anyone say anything?

At least Rare knew "Grabbed By The Ghoulies" was sort of a crotch joke over in Britian. If I tried to make a game called "Coinpurse Annihilation" or "Scrotal Showdown", don't you think someone would try to stop me?

Of course people said something; that was the point of the title. No way was anyone oblivious to the innuendo. The box even says he's got a whole lotta nutz!

I dunno, it might just be me, but I may have a hard time sleeping at night for a few months knowing I marketed a game called "Mr. Nutz" to eight-year-olds.

Has anybody realised that nut is a slang term for testicle?

I did, several times. 'Coinpurse' isn't referring to a bag of nickels, y'know.

I've always thought Mr. Nutz is a fun game. However, I do not appreciate flipped tiles, and 50% of the tiles in Mr. Nutz are flipped. Bad. Bad flip. Stop flipping.

I was playing this during the last weekend. A mixture of Sonic & James Pond, not very original and not even half as entertaining. The game doesn't play fair, lots of enemies appear out of nowhere and thus you have to die a lot of times and memorize each level in order to get to the end. There's no fun in collecting coins or exploring the levels. Reached the last boss, but got annoyed from the repetiveness of the game and the fact that after each continue you have to go through all the levels of each world and never finished it. Doubtful to give it another chance in the future.

As my forum name suggests this is one of my favourite platformers after the Sonic games, you guys need to give this game some time as i did and you may surprised.
At first i saw it as a colourful children’s game but when i could not find the way of level 1 and had lost several lives i realised this game is a lot harder than it looks and young children would simply get nowhere on it and go back to playing Sonic,i have found hidden ways and the map layout and end of a level is never straight forward making the game quite a challenge.
    Give it another go- 8/10
