Default Sega CD Proto - Debug Unit Necessary?

I recently purchased a preview version of a prominent Sega CD game, however, I have zero expertise in this area of collecting. It is a debug mode version of a game which needed translation from Japanese, and it is dated 4 months older than NA release, so I am confident there will be interesting differences between this code and the final code we are all used to.

Here are my questions: Do I need a Sega CD debug unit in order to test this disc? Are there any emulators I can use, which can read this data? Will dumping the disc image or .iso be valuable at all to the community? If I do need a debug unit to test, is there anyone I can trust willing to help me?

Heh, sorry for all my newbie questions, I've just never had an item like this and don't know what to do with it, and don't want to hurt it. I'm also withholding the title until I'm 100% sure (Right now I'm 99.99% sure) this is what the seller claims it to be. It has some interesting paperwork accompanying it, and I will share pictures once everything is set in stone.

    Thanks for your time!

The Sega CD has no copy protection so prototypes will generally run on retail hardware and emulators.

Update: Received. You are correct sir, it does work. PLUS I was correct, it does have some major translation work needing to be done. Definitely a WIP (and the earliest date I've ever seen on a preview version of this game), and this disc has never been in circulation. I got it directly from the original previewers.

Once I receive the paperwork accompanying this game, I will post photos, screenshots, and maybe even make a gameplay video on Youtube showing off the differences. I also plan on dumping the disc image and .iso for the community at some point.

EDIT: I didn't realize this person had also posted in another forum talking about this. I've removed my comments so that they can do their own big reveal

Sounds really cool. I look forward to hearing more about this game! Now, if only someone could uncover Heavy Machinery for 32X...
