Default New version of Night Trap being Kickstarted

A new version of Night Trap with higher quality video is being kickstarted. For all the knocking the game receives, I love its low budget cheesiness so I'm pretty pumped for this!

Cool! I hope they meet their goal. I'd be interested in picking up a copy. I can't imagine the game is very good, but this would be like owning a piece of history.

These guys are like The Expendables in that they are a group of aging stars "getting the band back together". I love it!

    That's hilarious. haha

I was never much of a fan, but I'd hope they do more than just make it high def. There were certainly other issues with the game aside from just being an FMV game. The bad acting was actually part of the charm, not the problem.

I don't think I'd want this one in particular, but the "If we raise additional sums, our intention is to acquire the rights to as many other Digital Pictures' titles as possible and release them as well." line has me curious.

Ground Zero Texas was pretty good. And sewer shark, for all the cheese, could be turned into a decent shooter with some great "bad" dialog.

It's less the game itself as the genre it stands for.
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

The $330,000 goal seems way too high in my opinion.

I think it's just the notoriety. There are better games out there of the type they could have used. And if it hadn't been for the whole legal mess around it, I doubt this would exist. The story behind/around the game may be interesting, even the concept could be run with in a newer game well... but the game itself as it stood then? Eh... not as much.

I think the goal isn't bad, but a one month deadline is a bit rushed. It's not exactly a widely beloved genre, nor is the game itself really all that fondly remembered. I mean, maybe I'm wrong, and we will have to see.

But I think they should have let it sit for a few months to trickle in some money and hopefully hit their goal.

$330,000 is an absolute joke it does not require that much money! I laughed at how decent quality video shows up just how cheap the sets, etc were!

$330,000 is a lot of money, please give a break down of costs.

It's listed on the campaign page, Matt. I don't feel comfortable publicly discussing the amount we're paying our developer, but the $330K covers the cost of development, manufacturing and fulfillment.
    This says it all really!

I highly doubt they will reach their $330,000 goal.

All this bullshit going on in todays industry with "HD", "Remastered", "Definitive Edition" etc... ALL of it is a crock of shit to get more money out of someone. I don't like DLC either, another total scam that idiots fall for.

No way in hell is this worth playing for it's goal of $330,000. General Chaos II was only asking $110,000, promising much more and that didn't even meet half of it.

    I'm in agreement here 100%.

As I said somewhere else I would be interested in a copy maybe, but the whole thing seems sketchy.
