Shitting all over Probe's work with idiotic arguments and nonsense is fine, but calling you out on that is too offensive. lol
Go there and make a better work. If you can.

    I called Da_Shocker out.
"You" doesn't need to be only YOU, NeoVamp.

    /moved to PM.
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

Here's what I came up with:

    I came up with this:

If the shitty Probe's port sold over 1.78 million only in United States, imagine if it had been like this!!!

It is indeed a great feat, I tried very hard and just couldn't get it to look right. (I blame the stone)
and he even managed to do it in 19 colors, very impressive!

First thing would be to change the background color entry from black to the light blue of the upper sky. This way the windows in the foreground can now be entirely transparent, thus eliminating the light blue color from from the palette the foreground uses. The second color that could be eliminated is the dark blue in the foreground that almost looks black. You can't even really tell the difference between it and black in the foreground, so it's just a wasted color palette entry. There was another color I figured could be eliminated as well, but I can't remember what it is now. (I did this all a while ago) This opens up three color palette entries for the shades of purple that would be needed.

Anyway, after doing that, and messing around with some of the other shades, I managed to make something that I thought looked decent enough.

    Here's the arcade for starters:

Here's what I came up with:

And here's the original for comparison:

Of course, it this failed and couldn't work for some reason, they could have just used some of the other colors to color him; it's not accurate, but then again, the Genesis/MD version is chock full of inaccurate colors, so it's not like it makes much of a difference.

Would have been better than what we got.

At the time I did this, I also screwed around with some of the characters and the life bars (using colors already available in the life bar/blood/dan forden/fatality/etc palette).

Once again, here's the arcade for starters:

    I came up with this:

which is what we should have got, instead of this:

which is what Probe gave us.

Any chance to do the same with the 32X version?

    1. He's not hacking the Genesis version, he's displaying an edited background in Oruam's "Genesis Fight Engine" ... engine.
    2. Why would you want the same to be done with the 32X version? it already has the right colors and monk in it.

True, from my memory it was the same since it's using the 32X only for the characters.

Yeah but even doing that it still frees up two palettes for the backgrounds so that still allowed improvement on the Mega Drive side. And they did seem to polish more the game than in the Mega Drive port (though I wonder how much of that is because of the larger ROM rather than the 32X).

Also I swear, that 32X screenshot seems to be more colorful than the arcade lol

If only we had that bloody MKII source code! the MK fans deserve an arcade perfect port!
and if that MKII Unlimited hack taught us anything is that it should be possible to squeeze it all into a 32mbit rom.
