    Default Moon Dancer

Are there any more screenshots of the game aside the title screen?

Also any more info about this unreleased game would be nice.

There is more info which I've seen way back when in a Japanese MD mag. I can't remember if there are more screenshots or artwork. Does anybody roughly know the year when this might have appeared in mags?

edit: I looked it up in Japanese. It was an RPG based on a serialized story that ran in Beep magazine in Japan in 1989. The magazine staff teamed up with Sega to develop the game and it seems like some progress was made on it. They hired Hitoaki Minami of Advanced Daisenryaku fame to work on it but after being heavily promoted in Beep it was eventually canceled after 6 months. Beep apparently had a website with more info on why it was canceled but the site seems lost.

I asked a friend for a favor and got these scans from Beep MD Nov 1989:

    Expected release was March 1990.

Gameplay was story-based adventure with battles being grid-based strategy and there were also RPG elements.

Seems like a lot of progress was made on the game. I wonder if a prototype will ever turn up.

Thank you very much for the scans. I wonder what was the setting. Historical? Fantasy?

    It's fantasy.

I have a feeling the game fell apart due to being too ambitious. The scan describes a planned time cycle that kept track of months, days, hours, and minutes, and there would be various changes depending on if it were day or night. Also, combining an adventure game, a strategy game, and an RPG seems a bit daunting and potentially difficult to get all of the parts to meld well. And this was 1989 and ROM sizes were small.
