I had a complete NA genesis collection back in may (besides outback joey) Has been downsized since then. Now I believe I'm sitting on 350 games that I like. Quality over quantity.

I'm thinking that there is definitely a solid number of good games that is well below the complete set. I don't plan on getting a complete set, but I want to have a vast majority of the titles I've always wanted to play, and the stuff that is original, or just interesting. Aside from that, I want to use this as an opportunity to explore/discover titles on the console.
This. When I add games to my collection, be it for my Mega Drive, Mega CD or Saturn, I look for games that I always wanted to play back in the day, or games that have a very good reputation. As you say it's about discovering and exploring games that we've never played before. Of course when I started collecting many years ago it was about getting all the Mega Drive games that I love and had played as a kid. Once that was achieved it became more about discovering games that I'd missed and that hadn't been on my radar before.
...so my original titles are (everything is CIB except Ranger X) :
- Altered Beast
- Columns
- Michael Jackson's Moonwalker
- E-SWAT
- Castle of Illusion
- Final Zone
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Fire Shark
- World of Illusion
- Ranger X
- Lightening Force
...and the games I've picked up since getting back into the hunt:
- Cool Spot
- Forgotten Worlds
- Aladdin
- Zombies Ate my Neighbors
- Sonic 2
- MERCS
- Super Street Fighter II
- Shinobi III
- Taz-Mania
- Sonic 3
- Thunderforce III

- Kid Chamelon
- Revenge of Shinobi
- Ghouls and Ghosts
- Streets of Rage
- Streets of Rage 2
- Sub Terrania
- Shining in the Darkness
- Red Zone
- Desert Strike
- Ghostbusters
...I'm still working picking up more of course
...Edit, so I've added the following to my collection
- Sonic & Knuckles
- Shadow Dancer
- Thunder Force II
- Bio Hazard Battle
- Batman
- Earthworm Jim
- Midnight Resistance
- Rocket Knight Adventures

I'm gonna keep bumping this thread until it's pinned again. I love seeing other gamer's awesome retro collections!![]()
I just like talking about games people got, and sparking conversation. I recently acquired Ultimate Qix, after a member mentioned it here, and I'm happy to have it. I think I just need one more Taito game to complete my Genesis Taito set.
New user here, figured this would be a good place for a first post.
I grew up with the Master System but didn't get a Genesis until about 10 years ago. I like to pick up games here and there when they aren't expensive, not really collecting seriously or anything. I do like to support new homebrew releases though.

Hello Wonder Boy! I'm surprised your handle hasn't been taken already. Excellent choice by the way.
Instantly I wanted to recommend Tanglewood and Xeno Crisis but I see you've already got them covered. Well done!
Your Master System Collection is small but you've got some really great titles there.
Do you play these games from time to time or are you mostly into collecting them?
Thanks thesegadude! I'm surprised the name wasn't taken also, it's my favorite childhood game series. All those poor kids really missed out playing Mario on their NES back in the day.
I will admit there are a few games in my collection that I haven't played much beyond testing that they work, but I do play my Genesis pretty regularly.
I think I found out about Tanglewood from lurking on this site actually, its a fantastic game! Need to replay it to collect all the little bug things. Haven't had a chance to play XenoCrisis yet, I'll probably give it a go around Christmas when I can play it co-op with my brothers. Currently working on SMS Star Wars (I'm a sucker for any and all Star Wars games). Trying to escape the Death Star is madness!
Bumpedy bump! Come on mods, pin this thread! Any updates in anyone's collections? I keep updating mine and it can be found on page 62 of this thread.![]()
Just updated my collection (see page 62) with these recent additions: Dynamite Headdy and True Lies for the Mega Drive, both CIB and mint condition, and Dragon Force for the Saturn, again in mint condition.![]()
I started picking up new games. I got:
Xenocrisis
Tanzer
Sacred Line (Thanks Zebbe!)
and I also was able to pick up some gems I was looking to get:
Raiden Trad
Best of the Best Championship Karate
Shadow of the Beast
Olympic Gold
And last, I ordered a Repro:
Eliminate Down
I'm really excited to play Eliminate Down on real hardware, so that should be fun. I really can't recommend Tanzer enough. Get that game.

Pricecharting doesn't have everything I have, so there's a lot in my collection that isn't on my list there. I still find the site a more convenient method of keeping track of my games than say, though GameFAQs. I used to keep an index on my personal website's forum, but with the host deleting it without notice, I had to redo my inventory.
