Fantastic! This is really coming along well. The sound in particular is really good with this version.

I just played through the demo and the attention to detail is OUTSTANDING. The audio in particularly sounds great. Thanks for sharing! Can't wait to see what the final release is like!

This is simply outstanding, Tryphon. I've been lurking here, watching the progress of this project for ages and it's astounding how good it is.

This port is Amazing! I found a bug where I got stuck on the 1st level. LOL, I used to do software testing. This was using a retroarch on my phone. I was able to get out of this but I had to wrestle with the controls and I'm not sure what I did that worked.

Yep, it's true, the demo is amazing! I really like that there was no UI to be seen on the screen, it felt so clean and immersive. I wish this could be an option for the final game, though the arcade always had an UI.

The demo is amazing. I'd like to give some feedback so please don't take this as me being a negative nancy or anything, these are just some thoughts...

Does every sound effect need to be a sample? Definitely for the voices and grunts, etc, but the sound when rescuing kids and all other effects? Could those not be handled by the FM? This might clear up space so the actual voices can sound cleaner as they are pretty grainy now.

The green ninjas seem to move slightly weird when they get hit. This is EXTREMELY minor. It just seems to be different from the movement they make when getting hit on the arcade version.

    .
Yes, its one of the complains from who uses xgm driver, he must use pcm for every effect. But i think thats we need to take a look to effects again, because some of them are degraded a bit and in xgm they should sound clear and crispy, like we see in another titles out there using the same driver. Shinobi does not had so much effects so ithink thats it can be improved on the future.

I remember in early 91 i was a little reluctant to purchase a Mega Drive console simply for the fact that it did not have Shinobi on it. After a few days of being on the fence i finally caved in. Saying to myself SEGA will most likely port it at some time in the future. Guess what... those bastards never did! You guys are awesome. Thanks so much for this!

"The arcade game Shinobi was very popular. It was developed by another team, but we were tasked with developing the home console version. I was the game designer and director of a small development team – one planner, three full-time programmers, four full-time designers and Yuzo Koshiro for the sound. Although we kept the ninja theme of the arcade version, we completely altered the game design and game system to highlight the features of the home console – that was what made the game so successful." , Noriyoshi Ohba

This guy was the reason why we did not get a proper Shinobi port back then.

But instead we got the awesome The Super Shinobi/The Revenge of Shinobi, which is by far my favourite entry of the series, so in this case I fully concur with his idea of doing a brand new Shinobi game instead of a mere arcade port for the Mega Drive, a conversion we are now getting anyway.
