    On regular gameplay.. what i see most of the time is everyone going to right the fast possible, that's "way of the ninja"" kkkk
    so in normal case the enemy placement is correct

    is rare you have to step back for something..
    the one case that me and others friends did it, is to try set the record on machine,
    so we walking back trought the level until the time limit to make more points, but dosen't works in every level..
    Stage 1-1 and 1-2 is easy, the enemys respawn when you reach the end or the begning of the level
    but in stage 2-1 it dosen't work, but if you stop near of ship entrance, here:

    the knife mans will spawn at eternum until the time ends.

    In stage 2-2 dosen't work, and in 2-3 only the sea man respawn on stage and etc..
    i think we can tune it on future.

    Edit: Also we have look at in some enemys AI, the gun man for example his normal action is fire when his are in stand position,
    after his first animation cicly the next one his can fire in lowered position.
    But i don't know if it has something in relation with difficulty level.. on arcade we can see how is seted =D

    Hey, just found out about this project, this is super interesting. Always felt there should have been a Genesis port; the Master System version is heavily downgraded and the boss patterns are weird, and the PC Engine version is too zoomed in so you can't always see the enemies ahead of you in time (plus they removed close-range attacks). I understand why they chose to just make a new game instead (Revenge of Shinobi), so I'm not mad at them, but it still felt like the proper home Shinobi was missing. Anyway, just wanted to give some encouragement. I'm gonna try the demo and come back with impressions later.

    Tried the demo and compared it to the arcade in Mame (Normal) - nice work so far! The speed with a bunch of sprites on screen is very impressive. These are the only major differences I noticed which seemed for the worse:
    -Gunmen start shooting sooner as they spawn onto the screen
    -Around the middle of the level after the knifemen a gunman spawns and shoots from the left here when you stop in front of the boxes, while it doesn't happen in the arcade version (it makes sense to turn left for a bit here because of the spawning punks unless you know the level very well). Same thing can happen (and doesn't in the arcade version) if you stop and shoot right below the shield & sword guy before the knifemen. This isn't necessarily a problem but it makes your version harder.

    Yup, I was going to post something similar. The demo's looking good, apart from minor color issues which the author's already noted, but those gunmen are deadlier cause they shoot so fast (in the arcade version, the gunmen found in the last level shoot about as fast, but not those early in the game). I had the same experience in that spot where a gunman is standing on top of a larger pile of boxes. In the arcade version, if you turn back there, you usually come across two regular thugs, but now there's also gunman who tends to shoot right away when he appears on-screen, and he's so close that you don't really have time to duck.

    For anyone interested, here's a video from the latest version. Still no music, but 2 more ennemies, 3 stages, and it's possible to finish a stage !
