Default Someone needs to port the original TMNT Arcade Game to the 32X

That would be the best day ever...always wanted this game, but then it never came out for any console.

Omfg, that would be the perfect port.

Can't disagree with that idea. Quite a few good arcade games were down ported from 16-bit to 8-bit mostly out of home platform release timing, the NES one was okay but the DOS and Amiga ports were closer to looking like the arcade original but sound and control wasn't good.

Should probably be able to use the arcade sprites, the original screen resolution is 304X224 so the 32X is actually a little higher at 320X224, ehh 20 more pixels wider isn't much more. I think the default of Genesis doing the background and the 32X doing the sprites and foreground would work out nicely. With the 32X getting the colors close to the arcade originals would be straight forward.

Well the usual problem is lawyers beyond the technical matters, I don't like that point but it has to be said. You got to get Konami, Nickelodeon, and Lions Gate Entertainment to sign off on it if I'm understanding who owns each part of the arcade game from this page.

Im pretty sure you could port it to the 32X without Lionsgate kicking up a big fuss.

You've convinced us to no longer hold you back.

Please have it done in time for Easter, unless "2015" means you can whip it off before the new year.

You have a point, a lot of times people get in trouble with the rights holders because they release a lot of info way before the game is done. I say if you're gonna do it, keep it under wraps until it's done.

From a technical perspective, the best way to "hack" this would be to port a MAME emulator to 32X. Of course, that would still be a lot of work and might not run optimally.

Otherwise, you'd have to remake the game from scratch, and I don't even know where you'd start with that. Just ripping the art assets alone would be a huge project.

The main reason I imagine people don't bother is because honestly, it's ultimately pointless really. This game runs mostly fine in MAME.

No. The main reason is it's much much more difficult to do than most of you think.

If you're good enough to remake a beat-em-up from scratch for the 32X, you should stop doing coding for free and start getting paid.

If anyone ever does this, please put more love and effort in to it than the NES port.
