It is only a repro of the game. I looked at the fact I will probably never own the real deal, and considering the alternative, I went for a repro. I know it's not the same, but I am happy with it.

If you'd buy a reproduction, why not go whole hog and buy a Mega Everdrive?

I prefer physical carts, real or repros. I understand the Everdrive appeal, but its not for me.

yeah, to each their own, but i wish i'dve done this sooner.
i got pulseman, alien solider, MM: WW, centy, musha & a few others from a local guy, now i feel silly about them. they're something to put on the shelf, but learning the mega ED had save states, options to play those with hacks/different languages etc, it was such a no-brainer...love that thing

Everdrives let you play a game before dishing out the big bucks for shelf candy. I have physical copies of games I love.

Translations too! I just picked up a GG Everdrive for the translation of Shining Force Gaiden Final Conflict.

Is it in an original 32x shell, or Genesis/MD shell? I have been wanting to buy one in a 32x shell to make a NA looking release, case and all. Just looking for a real world review of one. Repros can be scary to buy blindly online. Any 50/60hz conversion issues? Too fast, sound etc.

I got it in 32x shell. The game plays great, sounds great, but it is a little tough at first. Just give it some practice and I will get it down.

Nice! That's what I did as well (buy a repro). I only got one because I had the rest of the 32X stuff and figured I would never afford a legit EU copy and this one looks pretty nice.

No, it's an exclusive. EDIT wrong now, also the NDS Virtual console.

It's story takes place between SF & SF II.

Having an Everdrive means you can play Rent-a-Hero in English, so I recommend it based on that.

Yeah, Everdrive is pretty nice in general to play all the hacks and translations that have come out. Not to mention the obscenely expensive titles as well. Like I had always heard good stuff about Panorama Cotton but until I actually played it with an ED I never really understood the praise.

I worked for Frontier Developments for a couple of years. I so regret not asking David Braben about Darxide. I'm sure some of the folks I worked with actually worked on that game as well.

I have no qualms about getting a repro of Darxide. Even if I shelled out the insane cost for a real cart, I still can't play it on my US 32X, right? I have it on my Everdrive and love it, but I would really like a physical copy for my collection. I'd want it in a 32X shell, of course.
