A proper fix-up of Mega Bomberman would be nice.
(fix the slowdowns, tweak up the music a little to make better use of the FM chip, maybe add in all the missing animations from the PC Engine)

Is it possible to fix Prince of Persia? The Sega version is terrible which is a shame because I feel like the console is capable of having one of the best ports. I get the feeling it would be easier to make a whole new game from the ground up than make a rom hack to fix the issues. BTW I mean the original POP here, not POP2.

I have enjoyed the original POP on the megadrive very much.
Sure, it is not perfect and there are some issues a bit annoying.
But the best hack I recommend is getting the euro version of the game and playing it in 60Hz!

The SEGA MD/GEN version of POP1 looks and sounds very good, but the sword fight controls are HORRIBLE (SEGA CD version and the Proto version PoP2 plays almost 1:1)

I tried to fix the controls of PoP1 years ago without success, but at least removed the boring fade out/fade in effect:

The European version improved the controls a little, but are still disappointing, even more notable for the PRO PoP players.

OFF: Still want so bad to see someone make a homebrew PoP port based on the SDLPoP or even in the Apple ][ source code that Jordan Mechner released years ago...

Maybe it is possible to do something by using Game Genie codes?
Why don't we ask Tony Hedstrom for his opinion?

I doubt Game Genie codes could fix all the issues with the game. For a full list of what's wrong with it you could watch this video from 21:00 he nails all the problems:

I requested some game genie codes to remove these delays to the Tony Hedstrom, but unfortunatelly he has no success with it..

yeah, the game looks better than all the other ports for the consoles, but the game mechanics was totally broken!

OFF: Jordan Mechner mentioned in his book that Sunsoft tryied to negotiate with the Broderbund to release a PoP port for the MD back in 1990 probably based in the PC-98 version. This version probably it would have been the best.

I was curious about the fade out/fade in transition effect but didn't give it much thought.

However, after doing some searching I realized that it is possible to use some Game Genie Codes to disable the effect.

According to member David from the Princed Forum it's a matter of changing some bytes in a certain rom address:

    https://forum.princed.org/viewtopic.php?p=23743#p23743

So, there I go and came up with these codes:

    USA version

    REGA-A6VW
    REGA-A6VY
    REGA-A6V0

    Euro version

    REFT-A616
    REFT-A618
    REGA-A6TA

It seems to be working in Fusion, anyone else can confirm?
