Nice vid, the music had a really cool Commodore 64 vibe to it; it's a shame more SMS games didn't sound as good back in the old days, the system's sound dates it more than the graphics I feel. The whole thing was quite similar to Overdrive by Titan for the MD, by that I mean very impressive and polished.

Both the music and graphical effects are awesome. I'd love to see you put those in a game

    Indeed.
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

That's what we thought as well and recruited him.

    Welcome to Titan, Psidum

I noticed that there was a thankyou at the end there, and this is going to sound really stupid; what actually is 'Titan?' Thanks!

Well, we're a "demoscene group" - A group consisting of several members, which create demos and visit demo parties. When we do demoscene related projects we always release it under our group name.

Here is some more information on that: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demogroup

    Hi,

Thanks for the kind words. I just wanted to clarify demo was made by three people not just me.

    Psidum - Code
    Sim - Graphics
    Slimeball - Music

It also uses PSGLib from sverx.

    Psidum.

    y u b mean sik?!?

The svrex issue was fixed in an update. This video was uploaded from friend, I hope to upload a 50 fps version soon and with fixes. It is much much smoother on real hardware but hard to get good capture.

I just tried this out, very impressive indeed.

Could someone please tell me what's being done at 0:40 ?
Its an effect I've seen a few times now (it was even used in the Titan demo), and I have no idea what's being done. If its hard to explain here, maybe someone could tell me what it's called so I can find a page on it somewhere?

    Thanks

Looks like a tile layer being stretched vertically while it is line scrolled horizontally. Similar to some underwater or firey background raster effects on games.

Thank you very much for your reply, however,

Isn't that the effect at 0:20 in the video? I was referring to the part where the there's like a vertical line of color that looks like its being twisted around. The effect was also used in the Lambo demo for SMS a little while back. It seems complex mathematically, but whatever it is, it looks great.
