I of course didn't want to stick with composite though, later on I had upgraded it with S-Video. It can also have improved S-Video quality compared to the S-Video mods on the Genesis Model 1 and Model 2s that have a CXA1145 or CXA1645.
That is what I ended up doing. I removed the AV out port on my 32x and replaced it with a dedicated PCB mount s-video jack. The jailbars are pretty much a null issue and the color saturation as a whole is much better through the 32x. I know I will catch no end of hell saying this... but to me my 32x with s-video doesn't look that much different than RGB to component I have. In fact the RGB to component was duller and way darker. Not to mention there were pixel artifacts on the screen similar to dot crawl. But I have had a few collectors over to my house who state they can't tell much of a difference between their RGB setups and my s-video. *Shield turned on for the RGB backlash and all power diverted to thusly..*

^nahh 32X composhit is far, far better than the genny's, no doubt. and i'm firmly in #TeamRGB but i had an s-vid modded model 1 years back & it looked great, cleared up much of the problems

I got pretty lucky with my 32X CIB find at a local game store about 5 years ago. It included all the cables and everything and I was happy to bring it home for $40 along with Space Harrier. I feel that's still about what it's worth and it's crazy to think of people paying $100 or more for it!

Just managed to snag one with all the cables for $60 on Ebay (though most of them were in the 80+ range... kinda ridiculous, the Genesis itself I paid $5 for), although the auction just ended so maybe I shouldn't celebrate until it's actually in my hands.

Though now that I think about it, it didn't mention if it included the metal clips.... and I can't find those separately anywhere...

You don't need the metal clips. I've used my 32x for years without them and never had an issue. They were only there to help prevent further RF emissions from the 32x and the Genesis getting out of hand. They do not do anything else besides hold the 32x in more snugly. They certainly do not help with any additional grounding since the clips aren't making contact with any metal in the Genesis when installed. In my case I remove the 32x from the Genesis pretty often to use the game genie for games that have issues using it through the 32x. Never had an issue not using the clips.

Yeah, same here. The clips are a precautionary thing for the most part I think, you should be fine without them.

The only thing I noticed the clips do was scratch the top of my Genesis.

I already have the Sega CD at this point
I fear that I might have a hard time to buy it with the spacer in the future haha (Seems almost impossible unless complete xD)

    Found a cheaper deal!
$100 USD shipped, unit, ac, av (True, I already have an AV), BOTH connectors for model 1&2 and spacer.

Saw your question about this to me as well, like Black_Tiger said I think there are better deals out there, but patience is always key.

Possibly yes Prices really did jumped since 2010 haha

Still cool, I basically have everything, even spacer+model 1&2 cables expect the metal plates. Even got a spare Genesis 2/3 AV at this point.
Might as well be complete (No metal plates but meh).

When I was still playing my 32x and buying games for it a decade ago, they called me insane. Well, who's insane now? Bwahahahahaha
