Default FX Unit Yuki: Henshin Engine for PC Engine, DC, and SEGA Genesis

I didn't know they make the game for Genesis too.
I though it was only for Dreamcast & PC Engine.

Edit : Tried to change the title of the thread, but it doesn't have any effect.

I saw that. It looks like the ETA for the Genesis version is Q1 of 2018 though, so if anything I think I will wait a bit on that guy.

2018? Oh for pete's sake! I have hoping to hve the MD version in my clutches in 2017 darn it!

To be quite honest, I still haven't completed the survey yet! And this morning I see that I've received an email to complete a survey for Mega Cheril!

Pre-ordered! Hopefully I can order a comic book to go with it later (not the Kickstarter exclusive one).

I wonder who will port it to Mega Drive.

I talk with the PCE dev occasionally when he pops up in the chat channel I'm on and I think he has already done a bit of tinkering with the Genesis toolchain. Not sure if he is for sure going to be doing the port, but he's already been designing the PCE version well enough as possible to prevent too many headaches with porting it I think.

I hope he has someone else that's already familiar with the MG/Gen to handle the port. Specifically someone who knows the quirks of the hardware and C toolchain setup for it. The good thing, though, is that he probably wouldn't need any assembly support in the C code for Gen port. I mean, the game doesn't appear to be anywhere near taxing for the system. But yeah.. a year to tinker.. I dunno.

Help please. I'm kinda lost on Mega Cheril survey since I can't speak Spanish.

I know it's a shipping thing, but what should I write on the box?

But what does it have lost in a Henshin Engine thread?

Lol. Because I couldn't find Mega Cheril thread.
Okay, I'm gonna write anything too, just to follow the requirement.

Back on topic now. Dreamcast Junkyard seems have a doubt aboutthis Henshin Engine project.

Finally, the team have openly admitted their inexperience with the Dreamcast platform; not one of the members has ever as much as programmed a simple tester to run on the hardware. While the lead programmer does apparently have a lot of experience in the field, any examples of his previous work haven't been mentioned publicly from what we can tell. Even worse, the project lead has never been involved in game development before with the exception of drawing some artwork for a simple browser based game.

But that kinda explain why the game's coming in 2018, not 2017.

That article was written a while ago and was thrown together without fact checking. I think that they only added a single correction after someone pointed out that they didn't understand how kickstarter works.

As has been stated since before the kickstarter, ports of the PC Engine version can't begin full speed until after the PC Engine version is completed in 2017.

There were multiple devs in mind for some of the ports and the team that is planned to do the DC port got the engine running in a single day.

Regarding the Mega Cheril survey, I just received the following email in my inbox:

Regarding Henshine Engine and their survey, I have to cite my current problem: I don't know if I should get the Turbo Grafx-16 version, the PC Engine version, or the Dreamcast! Two weeks have passed and I still can't make up my mind! Why am I such an indecisive @55hat? Maybe I will play eeny, meeny, miny, moe and make my decision that way?

I decided to go with the TG16/PCE version since it is the first one coming out, I figure I will come to the bridge with the other ports later when they are released if I want to play them. Will probably try and snag the Genesis one closer to release if I decide it's a port I want.

Sweet! Played the TG16 game for a bit at the local show here, lots of potential for sure.

Still on track to begin sometime after the base version is complete.

I'm doing both the tiles and sprites for a particular stage and depending on how much gets cut for space and misc HuC constraints, it's looking like most screens will contain over 100 colors and some may push 200. So it's going to be interesting getting it to work on Genesis.
