Well look at it this way. If a voluptuous woman starved you of sex for years then flashed her tits and promised sex, most would blow a nut rather quickly. Sega is great at depriving the fans of what they actually demand and crave. Remember all the video footage of the Shenmue III reveal in 2015? Plenty of screaming fans on that one. If a man is starving for food, sex, or in this case a descent modern Sonic, emotions will always be in play.

I don't know if I'm disgusted or aroused.

Level design looks generic and the music sounds awful.

    Thank god for Sonic Mania.

If this is only the start of game where it shows how classic Sonic gets into modern Sonic world, this video shouldn't have been released as it just makes even more confusion on the internet. They said it's not Generations sequel, but this video shows otherwise. Bad promotion.

I'm glad they included Classic Sonic and Green Hill Zone in Sonic Generations.

Oh wait, this is Sonic Forces. Well never mind.

I don't see how this is norm. Looks less than that IMO.

2D scrolling perspective Sonic games tend to have more feature heavy level design. There are many paths, more verticallity, etc. The ground usually has more slopes and ups and downs, especially in naturalistic themed levels like Green Hill. You don't see many flat platforms there. Compare this to older 2D Sonic games, Sonic Mania and even Sonic Generations. You will see how Forces design looks more simple, more generic, has mostly boxy/flat surfaces to run on to, it doesn't seem to have many different paths or verticallity. Feels like a mobile runner to me.

The music sounds terrible to me but that's a matter of taste i suppose.

When I said "norms" I meant the basic Sonic environments like Green Hill Zone. Showcasing a brand new level may be a turn off for some. They probably didn't want to run the risk. Sticking to what people know is playing it safe. Don't forget all the hate the Super Mario Odyssey received due to Mario running around in a human environment. Some people referred to it as "Mario 2006".

Bottom line, people will always find something to criticize.

I wouldn't call what people said about Odyssey hate.

More just poking fun at it really.

I love how the second result for "Super Mario Odyssey" on Youtube is this.

Eh, it looks okay despite the placement of speed design and music.

So glad i don't involve myself with Sonic Communities anymore.

Man, you guys are really out of the Sega loop lately(and I'm the guy that's hated modern gaming since ~7 years ago).

Off topic: by 2020 Sega wants to revive some classic IPs.

On topic: this games 3rd character is revealed:

^Yeah, heard about the first news.

Did not know about a 3rd character on SF. I'm still playing it, though.
