Hello my friends, since the beginning of last year I have done something in my spare time, now I have some material ready to share that may perhaps please some of you.
Street Fighter II CE is the game that I'm always playing with friends, it's the fighting game in the Mega Drive library that I most revisit, even more with the recent patches and updates we've seen in this community. However, after years of trying to improve some games, I thought I could do something deeper for this game that I so much enjoy.
So the object is to "improve" the general aspects of the game, scenarios, characters, colors, interface, fonts and etc ... However, not getting so stuck to the original, adding new content and elements that help to compose a better end result. Something that will not please anyone who wants something 1: 1 of the official work, for this is enough to play the original cartridge released by Capcom.
New Costumes
In Hyper Fighting mode you originally start out as the new alternative clothes for the fighters, and the secondary clothing is the original. So, replace them with the new clothes that replaced the originals in Super Street Fighter II Turbo. As they are not present in any version of the 16-bits and I particularly like the selection, I added to the game giving all the characters an extra clothing that did not exist in the original version.
New Backgrouns
The biggest problem of the graphic part of the port for Mega Drive is in the scenarios that had the number of shading and details greatly reduced. Maxfarras did a great job on SSF2 which makes me try to do something in this feeling. So I tried to re-do what I could using based on the other versions, keep in mind that I'm not a pixel artist and everything was done in pixel by pixel hand within my limitations. At this point I think the process of MaxFarras better since it converts the art from the original to the game, however, I did not go so well with this method and always ended up thinking things got a few displaced. Having said that, even if inferior I think I manage to improve them somehow.

Censorship
I'm fixing the endings...
While i'm doing it, SCD contact me calling my attetion to the censorship present in Mega Drive version of the game
damn inheritance of the SNES.. Luckily hes also offered himself to fix it, also some quotes after matches..

I was going to apply the other color fix and audio patches to SCE, but I can wait for this to be ready. A comparison video would be interesting, but I doubt that I have the drive to be the one to make it.

Oh this is so good to hear! I'm extremely happy to hear that you are focusing on improving the game but more importantly will not be making a 1:1 conversion of the original game. I am certain that adding new and unique content will definitely make for a better product!
Great idea to include new skins/clothing to the game! Very neat feature indeed!

I will agree with all of those who commented on how wonderful those colors look. You have great skill. I have a question though...is this going to be an available rom or is it just pictures of the work you have done with no way to play the game with the improved material?
