Default Super 3D Noah's Ark for Sega Genesis - Kickstarter

I wonder why Piko hasn't announced it here yet, but here we go.

Super 3D Noah's Ark for Sega Genesis

After we came short to the stretch goal of the Arkade Kickstarter Campaign to fund the Port of S3DNA for Genesis; we slowly started working on finishing the proof of concept that we had prepared for the campaign.

Well, that proof of concept is a 95% done Noah's Ark 3D for Sega Genesis! We are just need to polish the game and start a production run!
And after the dissapointing SEGA Genesis Wisdom Tree Collection's Cover artwork, could we now at least get this previously limited art for cover artwork of this game, Piko?

Why? The game was dire crap in the first place, and doesn't even hold tech-demo level appeal.

The Special edition will have that Artwork (was reserved for PC special edition for past KS) Regular edition will have the traditional Noah's Ark artwork in the RED template we have.

    Tell that to Gasega68k.

    -----------------------------------

By the way, this release is the first one with a new shell. So everything is improved now, Shell (with screws of course) and case.

I'll post pics of it on KS by the end of this week.

    Cheers!

Yeah it's no gem, but it isn't the worst thing I've ever played. It has a sort of entertainment value though. For the same reason b movies do. They just have a certain charm, at least to me.

I can't blame them for wanting to port it over. For profit, for fun, or maybe even just for shits and giggles. I myself worked on a genesis port of hong kong '97 at one point. Sometimes it's just fun.

Super Noahs Ark 3D was made with the gasega68k WOLF3D engine. Just this make this game a must have!
Still want an official release of the Full Wolf3D by gasega68k...

This is a possibility as I received an inquiry from Id Software Europe and I just send them towards Gasega68K.

Fingers crossed on this I'd take it over S3DNA!

I'd like to buy it even just to support gasega68k.

Secondary to that, I'm all for more uses of this engine even just for the novelty as a tech demo.

I am assuming since Piko already has a relationship with the Wisdom Tree folks this is an easier one to get made.

Console War enthusiasts will be interested in matching it up against the SNES version.

Hopefully Piko can license Duke 3D assets to drop in gasega68k's engine.

Build (duke3d's engine) can't be compared with Wolf3d at all. It's significantly more advanced.

Yet gasega68k's engine would be a huge improvement over the current Duke3D we have.

I can see it now.. "Duke Nukem 3D Megatomic Edition!"

No one mentioned the Duke3D engine.

It's not Duke 3d if you drop it into an engine not capable of most things that make it Duke. (disclaimer: haven't played the Gen duke 3d port, just the original DOS one).

Oh I know what's going on: Black_Tiger was talking about the Mega Drive version (which is pretty limited) while roce was talking about the PC version (which uses Build).

Though, not sure if the Mega Drive version's engine is better or worse than gasega's engine. It's sector-based and allows arbitrarily sized sectors (even if always rectangular), remember that in some parts the walls actually move, and there are also see-through walls. Also I don't recall it having any serious case of slow down aside from when you died (it seems the engine doesn't like it when the camera's height isn't centered).

I'd say the game was way more problematic than the engine it's running on =P
