Ordered! Quite amazing thank you for posting to let us know!
Cool! I'll make an order when I know the shipping to the Kingdom of Sweden.

Ah cool, nice to see Cosmo featured on this. Didn't know he was making music these days!
I tried to contact them for the 2nd time today (as they wished international buyers to do so) in hope to get an answer this time.
Just an update...that today is the last day to order one of these. International orders were the first to get made and shipped out. I believe midnight mountain time tonight is the cutoff. There apparently won't be anymore made after this initial run. If they do, I'm sure they won't have the 8x8 LED VMU matrix display on them.
I'm debating if I should make a full video of one in action with all the tracks in their entirety? But then again, if you can't buy it in physical form after tonight...then a YT video of the entire cart and album in action can't really hurt any sales right?
Eitherway, I love these kinds of projects and while they aren't games, they are cool show pieces and still technically impressive.
With permission from Catskull Electronics...I present to you...
YM2017 - The 9 track album on a Genesis cartridge with built in VMU! Enjoy!

I got my copy today. I really like the music, interface and the visualiser. There is just one issue: it crashes whenever a tune is over :/. So I have to manually reset the cart then, or press start/B right before it ends. It's quite annoying, I'd prefer to be able to listen to the whole thing without having to use the controller. Has this happened to anyone else?

Nope...works fine on all three genesis models I've tested it with.
by default it will only play one song. If you want the whole album to play, you have to change that on the first screen to play in order or shuffle. I've only selected the In Order option myself.
Does it do anything when it crashes? As in corrupted screen graphics or just a hard lock freeze?
The only two issues I've found (and I confirmed this is for all copies it would seem...), is that the visualizers get out of sync with the music about 2/3s the way on the first song, and then on Sunset Galaxy Beach, just at the 2:10 into the song the visualizer on the cart and on the screen both just stop until the song's end. Then they start back up again on the next song.
When the crash occurs, the graphics get corrupted and the sound freezes to a constant pitch noise. Just tested on the Nomad, same thing there. Another minor thing is that the song continues to play a few seconds after the time it is supposed to end. And the crash always happens after those few seconds.

Rats! Just found out about this today. Oh well. That video is going straight into my VG YouTube Playlist.
When I'm not blast processing, I like to write. You can find my short stories and other ramblings at smaman.wordpress.com!
Yeah I would say that isn't normal...at all. Sounds like a corrupted rom flash to the cart. I would try and contact David with Catskull and see what he can do?
bro@catskull.net
If he decides it needs to be redone, then you will likely be the lucky few to get the actual corrected ROM image that doesn't stop playing the visualizer midway through Sunset Beach Galaxy...LOL.
Sent a mail. Fingers crossed!
